Where Do Satchel Clendenin’s Parents Reside?
Satchel Clendenin’s parents had been residing in Bethesda, Maryland as of May 2023. While everyone around expected them to move from Rosedale Park selling the house they purchased in 1999, they instead remodeled it in 2008.
Central to their wide-ranging renovation plans, back then, was a kitchen/family room, rather than a formal dining room. Because Lorrie had explained then she and her family spend lots of time in the kitchen and family room. All the time, while the construction crew expanded that room and added others, the Clendenins had lived with Lorrie’s mother-in-law near Montgomery Mall, which they loved. Yet, each weekday, she said, was stressful driving the kids to their house in rush hour traffic to catch the school bus. Then she had to monitor the contractors’ progress.
Of course, Satchel’s parents did it all based on the “recycled and reused” concept. Following a basic architectural plan drawn up by a friend of a friend, they hired Miller & McIntyre builders of Frederick. It turned out well and they at last also donated all their doors, windows, kitchen cabinets, old appliances, lamps, and electrical stuffonating items to organizations such as Habitat for Humanity and Community Forklift.
Later, this project of Lorrie and Bill also got featured on MOCO 360, in their story about Bethesda-area homeowners choosing to remodel their homes rather than buying new ones.
