Amina Muaddi became the center of attention after getting dragged into a cheating rumor.
Twitter went into a frenzy over the rumor of rapper Asap Rocky cheating on soon-to-be-baby-mother Rihanna with the shoe designer. On 14 April an social media influencer Louis Pisano started the rumor on his Twitter. He tweeted that Rihanna dumped “Pretty Flacko” after the rapper allegedly cheated on her with fashion designer Amina.
The tweet read, “Rihanna & ASAP Rocky have split. Rihanna broke up with him after she caught him cheating with shoe designer Amina Muaddi”. The influencer made another tweet alleging that ASAP cheated on Diamonds singer during Paris Fashion Week back in late February. But things “apparently hit the fan at Craig’s in Los Angeles.”
Furthermore, Louis also shared a screenshot from a Deux Moi Instagram post that reportedly featured fan-submitted photos of Rihanna and ASAP having dinner at Craig’s back in March. A source reached out to Deux who revealed that the couple was spotted crying before leaving out the back door of the establishment.
Did Rihanna Catch Asap Rocky Cheating On Her With Amina Muaddi?
Louis Pisano followed that with a series of tweets one of which claimed that ASAP Rocky and Amina have known each other a while back. They did collaborative work together and designed “the ultimate going out shoes” in 2020. They were featured in Vogue in December 2020.
“For me, it was important that the first collaboration I do is one that is special and close to my heart.” Amina voiced about the collaboration with ASAP. “I wanted to do it with someone who shares my values and my perspective on creativity and design. Rocky doesn’t compromise himself in his work or whatever he does; he’s a perfectionist the same way I am.”
The article further stated that they have been friends for years, running in the same circles of musicians, artists, and designers. Talking about their friendship, Amina spoke, “It has been so many years that we’ve known each other; it was only natural someday it would lead to something like this.”
Though ideas have been flowing between the two since they met, the strange year that is 2020 helped push their musings into reality. “Everything happens when it’s meant to,” she says. “It was a natural time for us.”
She further continued, “Even if we come from such different parts of the world and we have different backgrounds, we have very similar aesthetics.”
Meanwhile ASAP also spoke to Vogue and shared, “I know what I like and don’t like in fashion, [and] I love what she does already with the shoes. Amina has an aesthetic and a flow going, just in general, you know, I wanted to make sure that whatever we did it bridged the gap between both of us, and it moved cohesively. It was easy collaborating with Amina.”
He added further, “Knowing how passionate she is about her own brand, and knowing everything that she puts into it, it was a no-brainer going into this collaboration, because I already had the experience and was familiar with her work. And [she was familiar with] my aesthetic too. We have a mutual admiration for style.”
According to the article, Amina has also designed a range for Rihanna’s Fenty collection. According to Guardian, it was Jahleel Weaver, Rihanna’s man-on-earth for all things fashion, who brought Rihanna and Muaddi together. Rihanna in the flesh is “very warm and very sassy,” says Muaddi. “If I design a shoe, I want Rihanna to want to wear it.”
Jahleel reached out to Amina to buy shoes for Rihanna after they discovered her online which led to the collaboration.
But, the big question is can the viral rumor be trusted?
The news of the alleged cheating was first addressed by Kurrco AKA tweeted, “Rihanna & ASAP Rocky have supposedly split up Apparently Rihanna broke up with him after she caught him cheating with Fenty footwear designer Amina Muaddi.”
However, there is no visual evidence to back up the tweets which claimed ASAP cheated on Rihanna. Rihanna who used to follow Louis, stopped following him. But, on the other hand, Amina is still following Rihanna and Rihanna is still following ASAP. All of this hinted at it could all just be a rumor and all three still have a pleasant relationship with each other except for the social media influencer.
