Actor Greg Hovanessian and his wife Tanya Baven rarely flaunt their relationship details publicly. However, there are a few details that are still afloat on the web. In 2019, the actor appeared on Hallmark Channel’s YouTube show Home & Family where he shared a few bits about dating his then-girlfriend.
The couple had their first date in 2018 which Greg described on the show as a “really really awkward first date.” Greg added that both had come from recent breakups and they were certainly not ready for a relationship immediately at the time. It made their first date even worse.
“I think we were both a little bit came from not the best relationships,” Greg said. “We weren’t ready to be in a relationship and it was this thing and it was this awkward hug at the end of the night and we walked away.” But, that didn’t stop the actor from pursuing a relationship with Tanya as he felt “something about her”.
But the second date gave a glimpse of hope for their potential relationship. “The second, I guess, date we went on it was like all the guards just dropped, and from there it was just like… when you find that it’s like hang on to it really, ” Greg added further.
The dating couple exchanged their wedding vows on 22 February 2022. Before her wedding day, Tanya’s mother sent the actress her own wedding dress she wore in 1981 on her wedding day.
On their first wedding anniversary, Tanya made a lengthy post on IG and wrote, “On this day last year we woke up and went for an early morning surf, we rushed home and re-shot a self-tape for Greg. We had our two beautiful friends @michelle_argyris and @mattborrelli insist we have a wedding (and we are so thankful we did). They came to our home amongst the chaos and rushed us into our fancy outfits. We had cheers – even saw a double rainbow!! We jumped into an Uber and drove to a tiny little chapel, faced timed our families, and said “I do” … It was a beautiful day … Little did we know how much this day would impact our lives. One year ago today, our lives changed for the better 💕 Happy 1 year @greghovanessian.”
