Meet Lauren Paylor, Drink Masters Season 1 Winner

Imagine a cooking show. Now, replace food with wine. That’s Drink Masters. The competitive show was all about making memorable and unique drinks for a grand prize of $100,000. Twelve competitors including Lauren Paylor participated in its inaugural season as they were eliminated one by one until only the final three remained.

The show’s winner, Lauren’s skill was undoubtedly the best since the earlier episodes. And though judges felt she was things slow and playing it safe, Lauren stepped up the game from ep 3, and ultimately snatched the title of The Ultimate Drink Master.

“It has been a year since we began filming and Drink Masters Premieres October 28th on Netflix. Who will be crowned the Ultimate Drink Master?,” Lauren wrote on her IG before the show’s premiere.

Did you know: Lauren officially bartended at The Emmy Awards ahead of her Drink Masters debut. Also, she was a  spirits judge at the TAG Global Spirits Awards and ASCOT awards.

Lauren Paylor Career

Lauren Paylor has always been passionate about maths and science. But before she complete her studies, she started serving drinks at Drink Company in 2014. The next year, she then went on to become a bar assistant and eventually a head bartender there. So, happy with her job, she turned her maths and science into a drink-making talent.

No wonder, before making any cocktail, Lauren first wrote it down and calculated every ingredient before she mixes them all.

Now coming back to her job timeline, Lauren worked at Nelson’s Greenbrier Distillery from 2016 to 2017 as its brand ambassador. The same year, she joined Hotel Palomar and Urbana Dining and Drinks as its Food and Beverage Manager and went on to work there for 3 long years.

From 2018 – 2019, she also bartended at The Dabney and Colony Club.

From 2019 – 2020, Lauren worked as a “General Manager/ Bar Director” at Dos Mamis.

And in 2020, she joined Riggs DC Hotel as a bartender and quit her job there in April 2022 as its R&D Production Chef.

Infact, 2020 was a good year for her. The star became Seedlip Brand Ambassador of The Bon Vivants that year. Also, she joined Speed Rack as its Social Media Coordinator and later founded Focus On Health, a company providing hospitality professionals with the tools and resources to better their lives through health and wellness education, programming, and outreach

Now, as of 2022, the star’s a Committee Member for Racial Justice in Hospitality Fund and R&D Production Chef of Silver Lyan. Also, she was serving drinks at different locations including Last Call Bar, Cranes, Cotton & Reed, Happy Hours, and more.

Thanks to her achievement, Lauren even was featured in the prestigious Dame Hall of Fame in March 2022.

Yes, Lauren Paylor married her husband Dadgums A O’Brinnis on March 12, 2022 — three months after their engagement. Their wedding was an intimate one with only a few family and friends.

Two years later, she went on to receive an Introductory Sommelier license from the Court of Master Sommeliers.

And in 2019, the bartender then became a World Class National Finalist at World Class and also won Hardy Cognac Legend.

But despite all the achievements, Lauren feels like nothing will ever change who she is. “It’s a beautiful thing to be given acknowledgment for the work that you do. My focus is on making a difference. I want to empower individuals to stand up for what they believe is right and provide them with the tools they need to be able to do that. Everything else is secondary,” she explained.
