For those who missed the family drama, Paul’s wife Kayla Sheets had been having issues for quite a while with her family who had a very traditional outlook on mining. What’s more, her stepbrother, Dustin didn’t even hesitate to say that he doesn’t think women should be in the mining industry.
So, to keep Kayla away from mining, her step bother gave the producers a hard choice.
Well, to be honest, Paul didn’t exactly have to leave the show. But being the supportive husband that he is, the star decided to stick by his wife’s side.
As for Kayla’s take on this matter, she saw this as Dustin’s cowardliness. “I think the little man was intimidated that I could do everything that he did, despite being a woman,” she said.
