Ashleigh Barty and her boyfriend turned fiance Garry Kissick met each other in 2016. The world champion tennis player met her partner at Brooklands Golf Club in Queensland when she was playing a round of golf. The pair clicked with each other instantaneously and have been in a relationship ever since.
The pair went public with their relationship in 2017 while attending the John Newcombe Awards together. “He’s extremely patient with me, and when we met he didn’t know a lot about tennis,” Ashleigh opened up during her interview with Vogue Australia.
“He’s kind of been thrown in the very deep end in understanding what the tour is like and how much we’re apart… he’s the best person to have around in the sense of switching off from tennis and being able to bring the fun and laughter when we are training and not be so serious all the time.”
