Early in 2022, Cynthia found herself among the judging panel on the Great Chocolate Showdown, a new chocolate dessert competition series on The CW that premiered on 29 January 2022.

Meet Cake Designer Cynthia Stroud On Great Chocolate Showdown
Great Chocolate Showdown is a Canadian import that came into existence on Food Network Canada almost two years ago. So, like old times, the show here in the United States also comes with 10 home bakers who do their best to dazzle the trio of talented judges panel of world-renowned chocolatiers and food experts.
So, Cynthia Stroud, here, returns as a TV judge again having previously appeared as one on the Food Network and BBC’s The Sweet Makers.
Cynthia comes on this new show also as an award-winning wedding cake maker.
A lot has happened to her before and since she went on to launch her award-winning wedding cake business in 2009. Her hard work and generosity have previously been recognized by royalty. Cynthia was decorated in the Queen’s New Year’s Honours List in 2017, with a medal of the Order of the British Empire for services to business and her community.
Most lately, she won the “Pivot for Purpose” award at the Lloyds Bank National Business Awards in November 2020.
Cynthia, now, continues to run Pretty Gorgeous Cake Company, the place that has become the “premier destination” for wedding cakes in Hertfordshire, London, Essex, and Cambridgeshire; has landed spots in the likes of Vogue and Brides. (Of course) all the while struggling to juggle with up to making 25 wedding cakes a week and looking after her children, she seemed to have decided to focus more on her TV work as well.

Back in the days, Cynthia had to live on £10-a-week while studying at university before taking the first job she could after applying to over 100. There was a week when her car needed oil, and though this does not seem like a big deal now, she recalls the sheer terror she felt then of knowing buying oil for a car meant no extra food. Exactly in her words, it was a “really, really tough” time.
Even so, Cynthia said, she did not allow herself the self-pity because then the only alternative was to return to Nigeria and get married almost straight away and have kids.

Cynthia Stroud’s relationship status was not known as of the time of this writing. ‘Stroud’, however, is said to be her ex-husband’s last name as her reported maiden name is Munachiso.
Back in the days, once the year of postgraduate study was up, Cynthia met her ex-partner who she married and had her children. They had two kids (a son and a daughter). And from the look of things, Cynthia seemed more involved in their lives. Even DailyMail addressed her as a single mother last year during the pandemic when she made headlines for “helping feed thousands of families across the UK after Covid ‘wiped £80,000’ from her business overnight”.
