Bravo’s Top Chef returned for its 19th installment on March 3, 2022, and this time host Padma Lakshmi, judges Tom Colicchio and Gail Simmons, and the contestants were all headed to Houston, Texas.

Joining Damarr this season were his co-stars — Leia Gaccione, Stephanie Miller, Sam Kang, Jae Jung, Monique Feybesse, Jo Chan, Jackson Kalb, Nick Wallace, Sarah Welch, Buddha Lo, Ashleigh Shanti, Evelyn Garcia, Robert Hernandez, and Luke Kolpin.

Among them, Leia Gaccione was the first one to be eliminated. She was followed by Stephanie Miller (the sole Cougar in the Bottom Three group).

As for our star Damarr Brown, he was doing well. 

He even won the second Quickfire Emlimitaion Challenge. In case you missed it, the theme for the second round was inspired by Friday night’s high school football game in Texas. So, the chefs went head-to-head with two teams of seven.

Being put in the team “Wildcats”, Damarr alongside Sam, Sarah, Robert, Monique, and Luke, faced “Cougars” comprised Evelyn, Nick, Buddha, Ashleigh, Stephanie, Jae, and Jackson.

This was also where Stephanie got eliminated after being in the bottom three with Wildcats’ Sarah and Luke.

As for his mentors, he’s trained under Erick William and Chef Andrew Brochu. Also, he admits that he is influenced by Emeril Lagasse and Julia Child.

When Damarr isn’t in the kitchen, music history is his favorite pastime, alongside his continual search for new or forgotten flavors and techniques.

Besides that, Damarr also splits his time running an online clothing store with his friend and pastry chef, Lisa. They offered hoodies and t-shirts with the phrase “Say It How You Feel It” written on the clothing items.
