Richard F Loughren was born to his late parents Frances J. Loughren and Margaret Evelyn (Wright) Loughren. Frances was born on February 14, 1921, in Chenango Forks. Whereas, his mom Margaret was born on January 18, 1921, in McDonough. Richard’s parents married on 4 September 1947.
Francis was a US Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, serving as a gunner on bombers. He received five battle stars for the European campaign. He received the Croix de Guerre with Palm bestowed by the President of France. Francis also was awarded the Belgian Fourragere citation, for the air offensive over Belgium.
Marge was a graduate of Norwich High School. She served in the medical detachment of the U.S. Army WACs during World War II. She worked for 22 years at Simmonds Precision in Norwich, retiring in 1984.
Francis died on 5 May 2007. Margaret passed away on 20 July 2002 at the age of 81.
