Meet Amy Loughren, The Subject Of Netflix’s The Good Nurse
Amy Loughren is the subject of the Netflix drama titled The Good Nurse. She is portrayed by Jessica Chastain and the story focuses more on Amy rather than the killer.
It was 2003 when Amy was first contacted by the police about the matter regarding Charles Cullen. They told her that her close friend was a serial killer believed to have murdered many patients by poisoning them with lethal doses of medicine. Obviously, the news was shocking to the nurse who was so close to Cullen that he had helped her conceal her heart condition from her employers.
The nurse then went on to read the evidence. Finding it to be “sinister,” she agreed to help the police. She was wired up and eventually, got the killer to confess.
Three years later, Charles was finally convinced of murdering 29 people in 9 hospitals. But the true number of people he murdered is thought to be around 400 making him the most prolific serial killer in US history.
Fast forward to early 2020, Amy then agreed to film her life story despite the trepidation. “I realized it would give me a platform to explain myself and also give a voice to others who have loved dark people or have loved those with serious mental illness that led to dark acts,” she explained why she agreed.
Thereafter, she worked closely with her actors; especially Eddie. Amy recalled telling him about her description of the killer as he noted each word and put those into his craft.
Now, Amy has freed herself from the guilts. Infact, she’s grateful for what she had in that friendship with the murderer because he saved her life. “I am still here with my daughters because of him. There was divine intervention involved,” she added.
The last time Amy saw her old friend was when he found out that she had been working for the New Jersey Crown Prosecution.

As for Rich, he is a SUNY Empire State College graduate who joined C&S Wholesale Grocers in 1995 as a DSD Buyer. Working there for 9 years, he then joined Heineken USA as an “Area Sales Manager/Business Development Manager.” In 2015, he then became the “Regional Sales Manger” at Friendly’s Ice Cream, LLC, and was working there in even in 2022.
Besides Alex, Amy also has a daughter named Maya Porter whom she shares with Eric Glade Porter
Maya studied “Esthetics/Skin Care” at Dermalogica Academy and “massage therapy” at the Center for Natural Wellness School of Massage Therapy. While her father, Eric Glade is a SUNY graduate who went on to study “films” at Bucks County Community College-Lower Bucks Campus.
Eric is also a former Recording Artist/Musician at HBO/Comedy Central and a former guitarist at The Hit Factory/Sears Sound Studios. A Guatemala City native, Eric loved Latin, jazz, and 60s pop music and played the sousaphone in a high school band. Thereafter, his love of guitar led him to work with groups at high school dances and later clubs.
