Turner president David Levy, who was Linda Yaccarino’s predecessor and then boss, credited her with making Turner a leader in the ad sales business. When Yaccarino left to join NBC, David said he was proud of her. “She’s a tough competitor,” he said. “That makes us all better.”
Linda stated that she had really worked for NBC four times total, including an internship until she joined NBCUniversal as head of cable ad sales in 2011. According to NBCU CEO Steve Burke, Comcast just acquired NBC and sought to consolidate all of its ad sales activities under a single leader, starting with its cable networks. He simply conducted an interview with Linda for the position.
