Aussie reality TV show Love on the Spectrum premiered on Netflix back in 2019 and opened the door to a ton of discussion about autism. And in May 2022, an American version of the show delightful dating show is back with a new group of singles, a new narrator as Kellie Jones, and an autism expert and advocate, Jennifer Cook.
The show, like old times, is full of sweet moments, first-date jitters, and heartbreaks. It follows six singles on the autism spectrum from Los Angeles to Boston as they dive headfirst into the world of romance. Abbey Romeo, who is no stranger to the spotlight, is one of them.
Abbey Romeo On Love On The Spectrum U.S.
Viewers were introduced to Abbey, with the full name Abbey Romeo Lutes, in the first episode of Love On The Spectrum U.S.
Abbey, with mad love for Disney princesses, her dog, Clementine, and zoo animals, soon was set up with David, three years older than her. David, like her, has an affinity for animals (especially lions) and throughout its six-episode season, they explore their friendship, and common interests, and eventually make a decision about whether to date or not in the finale.
During the season’s end, viewers are also given an update about where things stand between Abbey and David.
Abbey was 14 when she began a journey to understand her autism. It started with her describing her brain as stupid and wanting to rip it out to her coming up with the idea that a little girl lives inside her and this girl is the one with autism who misbehaves, and not her.
But things started to get better once she landed in Spectrum Laboratory’s film and music program. With their help, she actually wrote the lyrics to a song called “The Girl Inside” and sang it in a music video. Abbey has since released her single “Hot Lava”, “Food Wrap” and a few others. All along she now also goes around as a spectrum lab artist.
Is Abbey Romeo Dating Anyone Now?
As of May 2022, there were no obvious indications on both Abbey and David’s social media based on which one could tell if or not they are still together. But, still, most fans believed they are still together. Why? Because throughout the season, these were inseparable and Abbey even had adorably told David he is her lion and she is his lioness.
They had agreed to officially become a couple during Christmas when Abbey invited David over to celebrate the occasion. At this point, even their families, like a big, blended family. All this transpires during episode 6 when David asks Abbey to be his girlfriend. Beaming Abbey says yes, before asking the same question to David.

Mary Romeo, a self-proclaimed comedian, is Abbey’s other sister who also works in similar projects/businesses (called Comedy on the Beach and Neat Freaks Los Angeles) as Casey. Also as per LinkedIn, Mary also is an aspiring producer and host in the LA scene.
