DJ Phillips is Megan Danielle’s father who walked out of Megan’s life when she was just seven. “My siblings and I actually watched my dad walking out of the house,” the American Idol contestant said.

Thereafter, Megan put all the blame on herself for what had transpired. “It made me feel kind of worthless like I wasn’t a good daughter or even a good sister,” she explained.

Fortunately, Megan still had her maternal grandfather Chuck Page with her — the most important person in her life and one of her biggest fans. It was also thanks to his advice, she switched to Christian music after years of unwillingly performing in bars. “This isn’t what you’re supposed to be doing. How can you sing for God and sing for this?” she recalled his words.

Sadly, her grandfather, who she called “Papa,” passed away in November 2021. He was the owner and operator of T and T Trucking for over 30 years and a member of Little Vine Baptist Church. Also, he raced for 44 years and love his watch his sons, Mark and Michael Page race.

Now, Megan’s a seasoned singer and has already made it to the top 12 on American Idol.

Cheering her his daughter, DJ took to his FB to write, “This world has chewed me up and spit me out at times. But the one thing the world will never take from me is my fatherhood. I’m still here cheering on all 4 of my kids. God has a plan for it all. Passion runs deep! God runs the deepest!”

No, DJ Phillips separated from Megan Danielle’s mother Monica Page back in 2009. He’s since found love again and is happy in a relationship with his partner — who often graces his socials.
