In response to Bobby Bones Show’s tweet suggesting that Thanksgiving and New Year’s Eve are the worst days to get married, Amy informed her Twitter followers that the couple wed on New Year’s Eve.
On December 29, 2016, the day before the couple’s tenth wedding anniversary, the radio host posted a video of the dancing couple. When their wedding son started playing, Amy and Ben were unable to stop themselves from dancing once more, she revealed in the description of the Instagram image that they were visiting her sister’s house.

“Our children have given my husband and me the amazing gift of teaching us about some of our deepest wounds,” Amy said.
In March 2023, Amy shared that her parents were separated and now are process of getting a divorce.
The website states, “The decision was not made lightly, they’ve spent the last few years working towards what is most loving for everyone involved and true to the people they’ve become. And most importantly, the well-being of their kids. They went to couples therapy to figure out how to best move forward in this situation, and their top priority through all of it has been learning how to co-parent and show up as the best co-parents possible.”
Without the love and support of their family and friends, who have walked alongside them both without passing judgment and provided encouragement and support, as well as the knowledge and counsel of therapists, they wouldn’t be where they are in this process. She claimed that divorce evokes a range of complex emotions, with humiliation ranking highest.
They feel like they are both finally ready to release it after working so hard on it. She hopes that by sharing this, anyone else suffering through this kind of loss would be able to let go of whatever guilt they may be experiencing and realize that they are not alone in their struggles.
