As per Angel Santiago’s FB relationship status, he was still “in a relationship” at the time of writing this article. However, we’re unsure if Gabriela Fdez is still his boo as she stopped appearing on Angel’s socials after September 2022.
Their last IG post was made on September 21, featuring their pictures at a friend’s wedding.
A month before that, the lovebirds were spotted spending a well-deserved vacation in Ibiza, Spain, after a year of intense work. Also, in May of that year, the couple graced Spring Gala together in favor of the Economic Kitchen in Hosteria Finca San Juan.
Overall, Angel and Gabriela were together for five years before they decided to join Netflix’s Deep Fake Love. The self-descrived “perfect couple” were sure that they would make it through and win that whopping 100,000 euros.
“With a look, we tell each other everything. I want to do this for her to realize she can trust me,” Angel said.
Also, promoting the show, he took to his IG to write, “5 couples will travel to paradise to find out if their love is real. But artificial intelligence will distort your experience to unsuspected limits. Our love was a crush and we are both clear that we are the love of each other’s lives.”
Joining Angel and Gabriela for the inaugural season of Deep Fake Love were their co-stars Manuel and Aida, Paula and Javi, Isa and Ruben, and Alejandro and Ramon.
For those just catching up, the show tested couples with deepfake technology. In simple words, artificial intelligence modified images to make them look like their other half is cheating, when in fact they were faithful all the while. Or, they could have cheated for real.

For those of you wondering, Deep Fake Love was filmed in the Dominican Republic. But the White Room scenes, where the contestants are shown their partners with another individual, were probably lensed on a custom-built sound stage in one of the film studios located within the country. With this being said, the exterior scenes or other scenes were recorded in various areas of the Dominican Republic, including the beaches and several picturesque locations.
