Just when we thought Gordan Ramsey couldn’t be any harsher than he was on Hell’s Kitchen, he came up with a brand new cooking show Next Level Chef in 2022, and this was the real nightmare. Our star, Angie Ragan was one of the contestants who dared to participate in this inaugural season, hoping to make a name for herself and take home that stunning quarter of a million dollars cash prize.

Angie Ragan On Next Level Chef
Next Level Chef premiered on Jan 2, 2022, and there appeared Angie Ragan alongside 14 other contestants, eyeing to be put on the top level.
For those who don’t know, the show took three teams, competing on three levels of a massive three-story kitchen — each team, divided according to the judges Nyesha Arrington, Richard Blais, and Gordon Ramsay, who each mentor a level.
The top-level which included the best line gadget and gizmo a cook could ever wish for was mentored by judge Nyesha. The middle level, with an essentially equipped standard kitchen, was handed by Richard. And the Basement Level, which only received the leftovers, was undoubtedly chef Gordon Ramsay’s.
Obviously, the top storey had the upper hand, and many wanted to be there.
However, it was up to judges to decide a winner amongst all contestants. Meaning, his/her team is safe for that round and the other two were put forward to take part in an elimination challenge.
So, one chef from each team (who probably didn’t do very well before) was chosen for the battle and only the victory stayed.
The last we checked, Sergio (the one with an attitude), Roice, and Gary, were already eliminated. And remaining contestants alongside Angie were — Zachary Adams, Reuel Vincent, Mariah Scott, Jonathan Harrison, Kenny Everett, Ae Southammavong, Courtney Brown, Tricia Wang, Stephanie “Pyet” DeSpain, and Devonnie Black.
Seems like Angie was on the part to victory. But victor or not, Angie shared that she made so many friends during the shoot, that just the experience was more than enough as a prize.
All excited to share her experience with her fans as well, Angie took it to her IG on November 2021 to write, “I can’t believe I got to meet and cook for these amazing mentors!”

Angie Ragan Career
Angie Ragan is a private chef who ran her own catering company called Salt By Angie.
However, it wasn’t until circa 2019, Angie started to take her career as a chef seriously. Yes, she’s worked in other professions for most of her life, and then one day, after cooking for friends and family, her dishes started heating up.
“People started wanting to buy some of my food and I started realizing oh, I’m really good at this. Our whole family cooks like this, so I didn’t know I was extra,” Ragan recalled.
Thus, this was also how the idea for opening her own catering company was born.
The menu for Salt By Angie included appetizers anywhere from $20 to $25, salads for $6 – $20, entrees for $35 – $75, and desserts for $18 – $20.
Also, they sold mechs including tees, tanks, bags, and caps ranging anywhere from $18 to $44.50.
Wondering how can she cook so well without any training or professional experience? Well, she credits her grandmother and her family for her love of fine cuisine and flavor. Back when she was young, she often spent her time being on the counter of her grandma’s restaurant who was a caterer and classically trained. Guess, that explains where she inherits her talent from.
Did you know: After each Next Level Chef episode aired, Angie did a pop-up dinner at the Sun ‘N Fun.
