The Great British Sewing Bee returned for a new season (8th) on 27 April 2022 with eight sewers to showcase their garment-making skills. Anne Rolo Phillips is among them and we shall now discuss her in the rest of the writing.

Annie lands on the competition having taken sewing up again in earnest during the pandemic. She describes it as therapeutic and something she loves doing late at night.

Then there is her 92-year-old granny Monica who taught her to sew and from whom Annie inherits her Ghanaian heritage. Annie Rolo Philips is professionally a fashion buyer. Since earning a Fashion Design degree from the University of Westminster in 2012, she has bought for many high-street fashion brands.
In her words, until December 2021, she also called herself an accessories buyer and an amateur sewer.
As per her BIO on her website, she launched ‘Made by Annie’ in 2019; altering and amending existing pieces, and then during the lockdown of 2020 created a range of accessories from waste materials to encourage people to look at what they already own.
