When Anthony Cook and his group first got in a boat crash, he immediately called his parents, Beverly And Keith Cook. “We can’t find Mallory. They can’t find Mallory,” these were the only words Anthony could tell them. Beverly and Keith then rushed to the scene and thus became one of the first family members to arrive and speak to officials.

Who Are Anthony Cook Parents?
Anthony Cook was born to his parents, Beverly and Keith Cook. They first came across Mallory Beach when she was just three or four years old while they were actively working on their job of building her family’s home. These two clans then connected, which soon evolved into their children literally growing up together and falling hard in love.
“[Mallory] brought out a side to him that we had not seen,” Beverly said in the documentary Murdaugh Murders: A Southern Scandal.
Sadly, everything changed on the dreadful night of February 24, 2019, as Beverly and Keith received a call from Anthony saying that their group had been in a boat crash. “Obviously, when you get a call in the middle of the night, you know something’s wrong,” Beverly said.
So, Anthony’s parents immediately rushed to the scene to console their shaken son and also to coordinate with other parents in search of Mallory.
For those of you wondering, Anthony refused to leave Mallory behind. Thus, his parents went to the scene rather than heading to the hospital like every other parent. “[He] stayed there all day long,” Keith stated before Beverly followed up, “He didn’t want to leave. Every day, Anthony would go down to the water. He would talk to her and pray. That day, I heard him tell one of his friends, ‘I don’t know what’s gonna happen, but if she came walkin’ up outta this water right now, I’d marry her today. I’d take her and marry her right now.’”
Unfortunately, Mallory never came out that night. Her body was only recovered eight days later. Rumors had that the search took so long because of the Murdaugh family as it was young Paul Murdaugh driving the boat out of his mind drunk.
Meet Beverly Cook, Anthony Cook Mother
Anthony Cook’s mother Beverly Cook is the daughter of Cecil Freeman and Bonnie. She has two paternal uncles and seven siblings/cousins. Sadly, her grandmother Mary Alice Mixson Freeman passed away on July 30, 2012, at the age of 81.
After Mallory Beach passed away, Beverly took to her FB to share her thoughts about the matter. In the post, she recalled the times, she had to force her son away from the bridge where they spent that entire week in anguish during the search for sweet Mallory. She also added that the event has hurt her and nothing she can do to help ease that pain.
But over the years, Beverly has learned even if we know our loved ones are in Heaven, we who are left behind are still simply human. And as humans, we must grieve. “The grieving process is different in nature & in length for everyone. Certain reminders, like today, can cause that process to resurface, even when we think we’ve moved into a “somewhat” better place,” she explained.
