The new season of Bake Off is upon us dubbed “The Professionals” in 2023. The new season premiered on 4 July and fans have been graced with a sweet treat.
The contestants are paired in teams and in this piece, we will discuss Margo and Ally. The chef, affectionately referred to by her coworkers as “Sergeant” Margo, relocated to London from Poland in 2014. She completed her training at Le Cordon Bleu before starting her first shift on a busy Mother’s Day at London’s Balthazar restaurant.
Margo has been employed by the award-winning Lexington Catering for a year, where she collaborates closely with her coworker Ally to manage the pastry department. They boldly called their pastry area Queer Corner and decorated it with everything rainbow during Pride Month.
Both members of the LGBTQ+ community have proudly renamed their pastry sections, Queer Corner, adorning it with all things rainbow during pride month. When not busy in the kitchen, teammate Ally will be found guarding the goal of their five-a-side football team and recently, at an international tournament in Amsterdam, Ally came away with player of the tournament.
Other contestants joining her this season are Andrew and Raf from Harwoods Patisserie, Annie and Subin from The Dorchester, Caroline, and Martin from Bisous Bisous, Mustapha and Tracy, Chantelle, and Kasia from Glenapp Castle, Martyn and Jenny, Mauro and Daniel from The Landmark London, Mayank and Dharma from St James’ Court, A Taj Hotel, Naira and Andrea, and Nicoletta and Georgina from Meraki Baking Studio.
Benoit Blin and Cherish Finden will judge once more, while Liam Charles will join them as hosts once more. The star of Ted Lasso and the most recent season of Strictly Come Dancing, Ellie Taylor, will be his co-presenter this time around.
Per Independent.ie, Margo and Ally were shooting shot for first place, but they ended up becoming a runners-up in the first episode. Raf and Andrew prevailed. Martyn and Jenny were also told to go home. The other contestants weren’t quite as intriguing, and they kept viewers entertained throughout the first episode.

Margo’s Career
Margo started as a Pastry Chef at Maestra Restaurant in 2012 in Bydgoszcz, Kuyavian-Pomeranian District, Poland. After working for a little over two and a half years, she joined Balthazar as a pastry chef in March 2015. She worked there for a year.
After that in June 2016, Margo joined Pastry Chef at Create Food till January 2018. She also worked at Wilson Vale Catering Management first as Chef De Partie and then as Sous Chef.
In 2023, Margo is the founder of Magpies Patisserie (@themagpiespatisserie) in May 2020. She is also a head pastry chef at Lexington Catering from March 2022.
Margo attended Nicolaus Copernicus University and Le Cordon Bleu London.
