Tiger King: The Doc Antle Story was set to be a three-part series that examined the life of Doc Antle, a.k.a Bhagavan who is a big cat enthusiast. This big cat expert also owned his private zoo in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, where he worked alongside Joe Exotic (as featured in the first Tiger King film).
So, Betsy ‘Brahmi’ Rogers makes into the scene as the first wife of Doc, who never “got over” the breakup. Or, so her bother said.
“They seemed like a happily married couple in a sense and Bhagavan used to use them as an example about how happy they were and what a wonderful couple they were which was sort of interesting,” a contributor revealed in the documentary.
Betsy ‘Brahmi’ Rogers And Doc Antle’s Relationship
Betsy ‘Brahmi’ Rogers first met Doc Antle while she was still attending high school. However, at the time, Betsy was in a relationship with a guy-next-door who eventually started seeing Doc’s mother. And Betsy, out of revenge or whatever her reason was, started dating Doc.
According to Betsy, she found Doc “handsome and confident”. The two then went on to get married and change their names following a one-month retreat at Yogaville. It was an Indian guru, Swami Satchidananda who gave them a new name — Betsy then became Brahmi and Doc became Sri Mahatmayavi Bhagavan Antle.
So, while the relationship started well, things began to go downhill as Betsy started noticing her husband sleeping with other women. As per Doc, their relationship was an open one, but Betsy never agreed to it.
“I was always the last to know,” Betsy recalled. Also, she then shared that he was “pretty careful at picking teenage girls whose parents didn’t pay attention to them.”
It was also while the two were still married, Doc began dating Sumati Steinberg and eventually married her in a spiritual wedding ceremony.
Over time, Betsy started getting old and “weighed 100 pounds, and had no curves just nothing.” And since, Doc allegedly “liked women who looked like they were still teenagers,” their relationship grew dimmer and dimmer.
Moreover, Doc started then with physical abuse. “He used to strangle me because it didn’t leave a mark,” Betsy shared. She also revealed that he got mad at her when she got pregnant — “He said it was my fault.”
A year later, Betsy then welcomed her first kid into this world. And as soon as the baby was born, Doc was gone.
Doc Antle’s son, Kody Antle who was introduced in Tiger King, could probably be from his relationship with Betsy.
Where Is Betsy ‘Brahmi’ Rogers Now?
After Betsy ‘Brahmi’ Rogers had enough of Doc, she then filed for a divorce but it was only granted a year later. Also, back then, she alleged Doc of spending nearly all of her inheritance without her permission during their marriage.
Not soon after their split, Betsy then got into alcoholism and had a few close death encounters. Thus, she decided to turn her life around and moved to Tucson, Arizona. And that was where she resided now, as of 2021.
As for Doc, he went on to marry a Yogaville devotee named Sumati Steinberg. “He hit on several of the teenage girls that day in the lake. He was 22, I was 14,” Sumati recalled the first time she met Doc.
Also, she alleged that Doc of being “incredibly violent,” and trying to kill her “four times in four years,”
“One time he even bragged to his girlfriends that he broke two of my ribs to shut me up. And it’s true, he did,” Sumati added.
Eventually, Sumati got pregnant. And once again, Doc packed up and left.
Then came Radha Hirsch, whom Doc allegedly abducted while she was 15. It seems that Radha first met Doc when she was 11-12 years of age. Then by the time she was around 14, the two were already sharing a romantic relationship, and she ran away with Doc as she turned 15.

She is only a year younger than her ex-husband Doc Antle who was born on 16th March 1960.
