Tiger King: The Doc Antle Story was set to be a three-part series that examined the life of Doc Antle, a.k.a Bhagavan who is a big cat enthusiast. This big cat expert also owned his private zoo in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, where he worked alongside Joe Exotic (as featured in the first Tiger King film).
Sumati Steinberg was first introduced on the show’s franchise as the second wife of Doc. The two first met in the 1980s in Virginia, when Sumati was just 14. “He hit on several of the teenage girls that day in the lake. He was 22 ” Sumati recalled the moment.
Then for the next six months, Doc spent his time “sending poetry, getting flowers, or just really wooing” Sumati until she finally gave him a chance. Not soon after, Sumati was doing nude photoshoots with Doc.
However, at the time Doc was still married to his first wife Betsy ‘Brahmi’ Rogers. “Luckily his wife Brahmi (Betsy) found those pictures and burnt them,” Sumati expressed her relief.
Eventually, on Sumati’s 15th birthday, the pair slept together for the first time. But before coupling, they held a spiritual wedding ceremony in Doc’s meditation room upstairs in his house.
The pair then went on to honeymoon in the Virgin Islands with his Doc’s first wife, Betsy.
Over time, Doc started to become abusive. He was “incredibly violent,” Sumati said. Also, she then added that there were “four times in four years,” he almost killed her.
So, why didn’t she leave? Sumati replied, “He would beat me or be violent with me, scare me into staying with him, choke me until I would pass out.”
At one time, Doc even allegedly broke Sumati’s two ribs to shut her up.

Sumati Steinberg got pregnant with Tilakam while she was 18. But Tilakam isn’t a boy, she is Sumati and Doc’s daughter.

Kody Antle was the only son was featured on Tiger King born to Doc.
Talking about the time before Tilakam was born, Doc initially claimed that Tilakam wasn’t his child, and asked Sumati to get an abortion. But she insisted on giving birth, and Doc responded by packing up and leaving.
Over a recording, Doc shared that Sumati was “a crazy little teenager” — “that you know I just happened to be hanging out with a little too long, and she got pregnant.”
This incident is almost as similar to the one he had with his first wife, Betsy ‘Brahmi’ Rogers.
Betsy shared, Doc got mad at her when she got pregnant — “He said it was my fault.” And a year later, as soon as the baby was born, Doc was gone.
Also, Betsy alleged Doc of physical abuse. “He used to strangle me because it didn’t leave a mark,” she said.
Where Is Sumati Steinberg Now?
After leaving Doc, Sumati Steinberg then went on to get her nursing degree in the 1990s and is now living with her family in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Also, now she is a grandmother of three children.
As for Doc, he went on to marry once more. His third wife is Radha Hirsch whom he allegedly abducted while she was 15. It seems that Radha first met Doc when she was 11-12 years of age. Then by the time she was around 14, the two were already sharing a romantic relationship, and she ran away with Doc as she turned 15.

After Doc, Sumati Steinberg went on to marry David Steinberg of Salt Lake City in June 1992. Her husband is a military man who celebrates his birthday on July 28.
“I’m grateful for the miracle of being with this guy through thick and thin in an eternally undying friendship,” Sumati wrote about her husband on their 28th wedding anniversary.
The couple share two kids named Mahi Steinberg and Sarva Mitra Steinberg.
