Cam stated it had terrified him because he wanted to connect with her, have a family, and travel. Lyndall, who was visibly upset, stared back at him.
“That’s always ticking in the back of my mind,” Cameron confessed. “Not knowing what could happen. Not knowing if you were going to be alright tomorrow.” Lyndall groaned as she stated she knew her condition would eventually come up as a problem and he admitted he did need some assurances that she would be okay.
“How could I ask somebody to be with me forever when my forever is a lot shorter than theirs?” Lyndall said.
“And I do care, so much, about Lyndall,” he added in a piece-to-camera. “It was a very confronting question to ask, but I’m here for the journey. I’m not going to let that pull us up.”

Lyndall asked Cameron “I have a chronic illness called cystic fibrosis. I don’t know if you know anything about it.”
“I know about it. We had a mate pass away… it’s where you have trouble breathing,” he replied emotionally.
“At the start of the year, this brand new drug got approved called Trikafta. It makes the lung cells work the way they’re supposed to, and it’s supposed to add decades to the life span,” she continued.
“The day I started it, my lung function was at 60 percent which is the lowest it’s ever been. Now, it’s back up at 90. It’s honestly a miracle.”
“That’s blown my mind. I’m so happy for you,” Cameron replied. He then added, “It took a lot of courage for her to sit down and tell me that, and I respect every part of it. I’m stoked that she’s got this second chance in life, and I’m happy that I’m going to be there for her. It’s unreal.”
