After the latest revelation from Paulie Calafiore, it has been established that he and Cara Maria Sorbello are both bisexual. It is known that Cara and Paulie have been dating despite several ups and downs through out the years.
Paulie appeared in “The Challenge: USA season 2,” which is presently airing on CBS and Paramount Plus with two episodes per week. And in episode 3, he disclosed that he had spent years trying to accept his sexuality. But he gained self-acceptance through treatment. On August 18, a day after the show aired, Paulie chatted with USA Weekly. He revealed that he is bisexual to the magazine, despite his ambiguous on-air comments about his sexual orientation.
According to Paulie, Cara was nothing but supportive when he shared the news with her.
“We both are bisexual. We just get it,” Paulie said. “I didn’t have to have those conversations like, ‘What do you mean [you’re bisexual]?’ It was just kind of understood. She understood.”
Paulie remarked that he was able to “express [himself] a little more” throughout his college years. The former “Big Brother 18” houseguest claimed that after leaving school, he began to hide his sexuality from others, which caused him to act aggressively, as reality TV viewers have witnessed him do numerous times.
“When I got out of college and went into professional sports … I was like, ‘Alright, let me bottle this back up inside,” Paulie said. “And then when I went on national television for the first time, I was like, ‘Let me definitely bottle this up inside.’ And by doing that, I kind of showed, like, that really aggressive athletic side of me. I never got to also show the softer side of me, which I feel came from suppressing that again.”

Cara Maria Sorbello and Paulie Calafiore are currently dating and are in an open relationship but they are definitely not married but it is not out of the equation (more on that later). US Weekly revealed in October 2021 that they have an unconventional relationship and they are happy about it.
“We’re open and people are confused about that. They’re like, ‘Well, they’ve got to be f–king everybody and cheating,'” Cara said on the October 7, 2021, episode of the “Watch With Us” podcast of her and Paulie. “We’ve come to such a good place. Me, mentally to where I am now and us together. We’ve been with each other through the worst of the worst. We still get excited to see each other. … The sex is good. The love is good. The friendship is good. This is my person.”
“It’s invite-only, but it’s also, like, trusting who you’re around,” Cara told Us. “There’s open communication about it. You can’t get offended. … And, you have to be OK with yourself. If she’s talking about somebody, I can’t sit there and be like, ‘Oh, my God, this guy’s got a better six-pack than me. He’s got a prettier face. Is she gonna leave me for him?’ And vice versa.”
The foundation of the entire situation, according to Cara, is trust.
“I know without a fraction of a doubt in my mind that this man loves me,” the Challenge champ told the entertainment news outlet. “We are honest with each other. We’re open about what our interests are. A lot of people will hide sexual fetishes or things they like to do because they’re afraid of scaring their partner off.”
Additionally, they are “extremely careful” about who they invite into their relationship. Additionally, they enjoy interacting and working together.
For many years, Cara has self-addressed herself as a “mistress.” However, in foreseeable future, she wishes to have kids with Paulie. On June 27, 2023, Paule told Us Weekly in an exclusive interview that he and his partner “definitely want kids and marriage.”
Even though Cara concurred with her spouse, she acknowledged that she wasn’t always excited about the prospect of saying “I do,” particularly when she first began seeing Paulie in the summer of 2018.
“[During] these five years, like, I’ve come back to who I am. I feel like a whole different person,” the Challenge: Battle of the Bloodlines winner told Us. She also noted that before Paulie, she was in some “unhealthy and toxic relationships,” which affected her outlook on marriage. “I’ve always been like, ‘I’m never gonna get married. I’m never having kids.’”
Cara added, “Even when I started [seeing] him, [I said], ‘Just so you know … if you wanna get married, I’ll be your mistress. But, like, I’m never gonna get married.’”
They hadn’t labeled their relationship as “dating” until then.
Due to “all the trauma” she had experienced, Cara remembers being “hardheaded” at the beginning of her romance with the other reality star. She has since changed her mind, and she is now prepared to proceed.
“I absolutely would love to marry [Paulie]. I’ve never said that before, but [Paulie is] the person that I see for the rest of my life,” Cara said during the joint interview. “I f—king love you. I 1,000 percent would marry you. Like, this is my best friend.”
Furthermore, Cara also has a desire for kids.
“I’m, like, ‘One day, yeah, [we’ll have] a couple of little soccer boys,’” she said. She added that she didn’t want to put her body through pregnancy. “Because this is my person — so through and through of above and beyond on a million different levels — [I’m in]. Like the fact that I am actually saying like, ‘Yes, I’m open to having children.’ I don’t think anybody who stands how huge that is.”
