Meet Tania Kratt, Chris Kratt Wife
Tania Kratt married the love of her life, Chris Kratt, back on September 23, 2000, in Botswana, South Africa. Yes, these Americans went all the way to the corner of South Africa to exchange vows, surrounded by Elephants. This could only mean that Tania shared her husband’s passion for adventure as well.
However, you should know that Chris isn’t Tania’s first husband. She was allegedly previously married to Craig Armstrong (now deceased) and bears two kids with him — Aidan and Nolan Armstrong.
The kids were also interested in animals and often volunteered with their stepfather’s work. Here’s a picture of these two angles celebrating Aidan’s birthday (on August 29, 2013).
Tania’s husband, Chris Kratt grew up in suburban New Jersey with his brother Martin, watching nature shows on television. However, no wildlife shows were dedicated to the kids at the time. And it was at that moment that they decided to do a show that shared “the adventure with kids and get kids introduced to all these amazing animals” and maybe also have an impact on saving endangered species.
So, after Chris graduated with a biology degree from Carleton College, the brothers started developing a television show about wildlife. However, they didn’t get many bites at first with many Executives at TV networks even dismissing their work as “cute” or “frivolous.”
But in 1993, Leo Eaton, then-vice president of production at Maryland Public Television, offered to meet them after he got sick of his kid saying how wonderful the demo the bothers sent was. And that was it! The brothers then started their first show, Kratts’ Creatures.

Tania Kratt is an interior designer who owns her eponymous interior brand where she “listens closely to clients’ needs and provides them with sustainable, stylish and functional design.”
So far, she’s worked for Canadian House & Home as an “Online Design Editor and Online “Ask a Designer” Design Expert” from 1998 to 2006, for Private Residential, Retail & Commercial Architectural Interior Design in Montreal, Stowe, Vermont, Toronto, New York City, Los Angeles, and for Montauk Sofa where she Co-Designed Showrooms in Toronto, Washington D.C., Chicago, New York, and Vancouver.
Her work at PLATE Restaurant design (Stowe, VT) was also accepted as an entry in International Restaurant & Bar Design Awards (2014).
So, what makes her unique? Well, according to Tania, her job starts with a plan and questions — How will you use the space? How does the space need to function? how do you want it to look? What feeling do you want to achieve or evoke in the space? How healthy and environmentally safe and friendly can you make your new space?
Then, Tania develops a plan suited to her client’s needs. Also, she looks for any ideas her client further has and creates a detailed floor plan, furniture plan, sample board, lighting plan, and paint and finish schedule so nothing goes awry.
The design expert added that Tania provided rendered elevations and drawing so her clients could easily visualize their new space.
A happy client shared, “We worked with Tania on a major remodeling of our house. She was excellent to work with! She understood what we were trying to do, gave us excellent choices which involved multiple rooms, and what she ended up creating for us went beyond our expectations!”
Overall, Tania’s a creative and gifted professional. With an incredible eye for detail, she’s garnered a lot of clients.
