Craig is a business partner of Marty Lagina, the star of the History channel’s reality show, and the reason behind Marty’s success. In fact, Marty Lagina and Craig Tester have a long history together. They shared a room in college and are now neighbors in Traverse City, Michigan.
Mechanical engineering is Craig Tester’s area of expertise and background, which he frequently draws upon while searching for treasure on Oak Island. Craig served as a businessman, engineer, and producer of the show. He owns a stake in several companies throughout his career. Some of the companies that he worked with for years are Terra Energy, Oak Island Tours Inc., Heritage Sustainable Energy, and several others.

Craig and Rebecca Tester are parents to three children: Madeline Begley, Jack Begley, and Drake Maxwell Tester. Madeline and Jack are Craig’s step-children as Rebecca had them from her previous marriage to Andrew J Begley.
Andrew was born on 28 June 1955 to Phillip and Anne (Gary) Begley.
Andrew attended Traverse City Central High School and graduated in 1973. Andy, a member of TC Central’s first wrestling team, was quite athletic. He was competitive and motivated. He also played tennis and football.
Andrew continued to be extremely passionate about tennis for the rest of his life. He was a respected student and well-liked in his school. After graduating from Hope College with a degree in accounting, his handball skills there rose to legendary status. Andy later obtained his MBA and CPA licenses at Keller University in Chicago.
Andrew ended up coming back to Traverse City and enjoyed a long career at Chef Pierre, in the finance department there. The last job he held was at a local oil and gas exploration company, O.I.L, where he was a CPA.
Sadly, Andrew passed away on 21 August 2021 at the age of 66.
Thus, along with his siblings, Andrew was survived by his two children: Madeline and Jack. Madeline is currently 36 years old whereas Jack is 33.
Madeline is currently serving as Behavioral Health Technician at Munson Medical Center. She also worked at Addiction Treatment Services in her hometown for four years before that. Madeline holds a high school diploma from Traverse City Central and BA in Fashion Marketing and Management from The Art Institute.
Jack, on the other hand, is one of the cast members of the reality show. His bio from the show reads: “As one of the Fellowship’s most passionate members, Jack Begley relishes every opportunity to scour Oak Island for the clues that will help solve the mystery. Whether metal detecting with Gary Drayton or drilling and digging in the Money Pit with his step-father, Craig Tester, Jack will fearlessly get his hands dirty in an effort to unearth the truth, as well as, the treasure.”
According to his now-deleted LinkedIn, he is a drone pilot and a businessman co-owning Remote Energy Solutions.
Craig and Rebecca’s own child, Drake passed away on 26 March 2017 at the age of 16. Reports say that he passed away from a seizure disorder he battled since birth, making him suffer from attacks once every few years, lasting a few minutes at a time. As confirmed by his obituary, the disorder was the reason behind his premature death.
