Veronica Tajera and her late husband Dax Tajera married on 3 August 2019 at the La Catedral de Santa Catalina de Alejandría in Cartagena, Colombia. They met each other first time in 2013 after a mutual friend and colleague introduced them in New York.
According to New York Times, The Rev. William George, a Roman Catholic priest, performed the ceremony. Dax announced their wedding via an IG post with a series of pictures from the day with a caption, “I love you “as big as the sky.””

Several known personalities in the network paid tribute to the grieving family. “Such a heartbreaking day for all of us at @abcnews,” ABC News correspondent John Quiñones after his death. “Dax Tejera was not only the brightest – most compassionate – executive producer I’ve ever worked with, he was also a dear friend. On this Christmas Day, my thoughts are with his wife, Veronica, and his two baby daughters.”
Another Jim Avila, ABC News Senior National correspondent tweeted with a similar sentiment, “Dax was a groundbreaking ep. So important to ABC as if not first Latino, among the first to rise to executive producer level. I worked with him at fusion and ABC. Always supportive and damn good. I will miss him.
