Alec’s father died a long time ago and Such seems very close to and protective of his mother. Examples of her needlework were hung throughout the house, an odd juxtaposition with the other artwork. A tattoo on Alec’s left shoulder replicated a needlepoint picture of a wizard made by his mom.

The bassist had also saved a cimbalom, a Hungarian instrument similar to a dulcimer, handmade by his paternal grandfather and played by his father. How Much Was Alec John Such Net Worth?

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Alec John Such accumulated a total net worth of $10 million.

Alec John Such worked as a manager of the concert venue before he landed a spot in Bon Jovi. He played in bands such as Phantom’s Opera (with Tico) and The Message (with Richie).

As manager of the Hunka Bunka Ballroom in Sayreville, New Jersey, Such booked Jon Bon Jovi & The Wild Ones before joining the singer-songwriter’s band. Alec joined the group formed in New Jersey in 1983 at the age of 31.

Alec played on the Bon Jovi singles “Runaway”, “You Give Love a Bad Name”, “Livin’ on a Prayer”, “Wanted Dead or Alive”, “Bad Medicine”, and “I’ll Be There for You”, “Always”, and more.

He played with the band for 11 years till 1994. Hugh McDonald later replaced him as a bassist. Alec described Hugh as a “hired gun” rather than a band member.

After leaving the band, Alec managed the band 7th Heaven. Besides that, he also owned a motorcycle shop in New York City and joined Bon Jovi at Giants Stadium in 2001 before retiring from music.

Although the reason for his dismissal is unclear, it is believed that the band fired him because of his live performance, according to NME.

Richie Sambora, also a former Bon Jovi member who quit the band in 2013, and later teamed up with the band for Hall Of Fame, commented on the long-standing rumor that Hugh McDonald had played a bigger role in recording the early albums than the band’s actual bassist, Alec John Such.

He said, “He did at the time because … this is no knock on Alec. Alec, you know, takes a little longer to come with a part or whatever, and we were moving pretty quickly”. Alec recommended Richie to Jon Bon Jovi.

Jon Bon Jovi said, regarding the departure of Alec: “Of course, it hurts. But I learned to accept and respect it. The fact that I’m a workaholic, studio in, studio out, stage on, stage off, and want to be dealing with music day and night, doesn’t mean everyone else has to adjust to that pace. Alec wanted to quit for a while now, so it didn’t come as a complete surprise”.

In an interview, Alec supposedly said, “I have enough of Jon, he’s puffed up, he thinks that I’m a weak bassist, he dislikes each note I play…”.

In 2018, when the group was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, the band reunited again.

During the reunion, Alec spoke about his time in the band. He expressed, “(I) love them to death. I always will”. In the speech, Alec explained, “When Jon Bon Jovi called me up and asked me to be in his band many years ago, I soon realized how serious he was and he had a vision that he wanted to bring us to. And I’m only too happy to have been a part of that vision”.
