Who Are Dr Carla Crummie Kids?
Dr Carla Crummie married her late husband Dr. Robert W. Crummie on July 25, 2009. During their marriage, the couple shared two children named Meagan Michelle Crummie and Robert Crummie Jr.
With a B.S. in Economics/Business Administration from Benedict College and a Th.M. from Dallas Theological Seminary (where he served as class president and was recently invited to join their Board of Trustees), Robert Crummie has completed his education. At Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, he is now finishing up his doctorate in ministry. Additionally, he is a Denver honorary doctorate.
Robert spent four years as a missionary with CRU (formerly Campus Crusade for Christ) after working as a grants management specialist at the National Institutes of Health. In September 1996 and May 2000, Rev. Crummie agreed to serve as the vice president of Carver College; the Carver Board of Trustees then elected him the college’s sixth president.
In 2006, the college under his direction increased its size from 2.5 acres to 16. Carver’s original accreditation in 2006 and its ten-year reaffirmation with ABHE through 2021 were both overseen by him. In 2010, he assisted the institution in obtaining Title IV financing, and more recently, he helped it add business and psychology degrees to its academic offerings.
Additionally, under his direction, the college now has men’s and women’s basketball teams that compete in Division 1 of the NCCAA. Dr. David Durham at Mount Sinai Baptist Church in Washington, D.C. granted Rev. Crummie a license to preach, and Dr. Tony Evans at Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship in Dallas, Texas conferred on him an ordination to the gospel ministry.
Rev. Robert was chosen as the pastor of College Park, Georgia’s Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in 1998. He has a goal for Mount Calvary which is “Growing the Church, to Glorify God.” a vision that has increased both the church’s membership and ministries. The mission statement for Mount Calvary this year is “Desiring the King in 2018.”
Dr. Carla Crummie is a Christian counselor, author, and The Urban Alternative’s ambassador for kindness. She also has a sizable clientele as a John Maxwell certified life coach. She mostly focuses on Christian counseling, helping families come together, and assisting couples.
Carla is now engaged to Evans.

Meet Robert Wayne Jr, Dr Carla Crummie Son
Robert Wayne Jr. is actually Dr Carla Crummie’s step-son. Her husband Dr. Robert W. Crummie welcomed her son with his ex-wife Cheryl R Crummie.
Cheryl’s education began in the Fort Worth ISD and continued through Dunbar High School. She earned a B.S. in Chemistry from Howard University, and an M.A. in Polymer Science from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Afterward, she did further graduate work at Georgia Tech pursuing a Ph.D. in chemistry. After three years she completed that program’s core curriculum and found her research efforts challenging family time.
Carla chose family and shifted her priorities to motherhood. As a student at Howard University, she worshipped at the Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in Washington, DC. It was there where she met her husband Rev. Robert W. Crummie.
Robert and Cheryl married on May 26, 1999, at her home church, Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Fort Worth, Texas. She moved her membership to Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in College Park, GA when her husband became their pastor.
Cheryl also taught mathematics and science at Carver Bible College where her husband served as President.
Sadly, she passed away on December 18, 2004, from complications related to Hodgkin’s disease.
