Though none of the rest sing or have that ability, they’ve always listened to good music in the back seat of the car. And this was how Emyrson developed her passion for singing.
According to Emyrson’s mother Flora, Emyrson would listen to a song once and she’d be singing it for the rest of the day. So, Flora got her a ukulele when she returned home from her trip to Hawaii. The younger American Idol contestant would then pretend she knew how to play it and made up songs for her parents.
Knowing Emyrson loved to sing, her parents then bought her a piano when she was eight. “I never watched YouTube videos on how to play the piano. Somehow I was able to pick up the keys,” Emyrson shared.

Emyrson Flora’s father, Chris Flora is the son of Mike and Linda Reming Flora. He is very supportive of Emyrson. After watching his daughter perform for the first time on American Idol, Chris took it to his FB to write, “Words can’t express how thankful we are for all of the amazing support and love for Em by our family and friends. Much love to you all and let’s keep this train rolling.”
