Eugene Smolenski is the husband of Alejandra Ramos, the host of PBS’s new show The Great American Recipe. Alejandra is joined by a judges panel comprised of Tiffany Derry, Graham Elliot, and Leah Cohen.
The show is an uplifting cooking competition show that celebrates the diversity of immigrant and cultural influences on modern American cuisine that premiered on 24 June 2022.

Eugene Smolenski and Alejandra Ramos shared their wedding vows on 8 January 2011 in the Bronx, New York City, New York. So, as of 2022, they have been married for 11 years.
On their 10 anniversary in January 2021, Eugene posted on his Instagram, “Conventional wisdom tells you that for a relationship to last you need to have lots in common with your partner. But the truth is that you can probably count on one hand the number of shared interests Alejandra and I have”.
He added, “What we do share—and has proven to be even more sustaining—is our laissez-faire outlook on life, easy laughs together, willingness to be ridiculous and silly with each other, unflinching acceptance of one another’s imperfections, and many other qualities that make me so happy to have spent these past 10+ years with this woman whom I love more than anything”.
Eugene concluded, “And when we, once in a blue moon, happen to agree on a show or movie to watch it feels like falling in love for the first time every time. To the next 10+”.
According to Alejandra’s website, they live in New York with their rescue dog, Jojo, and a wardrobe of colorful dresses that is far too big for a tiny Manhattan apartment. But, they don’t share any kids yet.

Talking about his job, Eugene started his career at Majestic Research as an associate developer in June 2004. After working for the company for a year, he joined Motorola Mobile Devices as a senior software engineer from June 2005 to June 2008.
Then, Eugene quit his job at Motorola to become a system specialist at Fidessa. He served the company in that role till July 2012 and became Senior Software Developer, a role he kept working on till July 2014. Fidessa promoted him to become Development Team Lead in July 2014.
During the four years of working in that role, Eugene managed a team of developers within a larger development organization as well as designed, developed, and maintained real-time, high-volume market data systems.
From June 2018 to April 2020, Eugene worked for Fidessa as a development manager. He managed a development team delivering market access solutions for the US, Canadian, and LatAm markets.
Starting from April 2020, he has been serving Bloomberg LP as a senior software engineer in New York.
