There was a time when modern athletic wear manufacturers Nike, Adidas, Reebok, and New Balance were not the biggest. In fact, they were far behind in the sneaker game than this brand called AND1. For years was a leading footwear and clothing company specializing in basketball shoes, clothing, and sporting goods. The trio had launched their brand by trading in trash-talking apparel before successfully dabbling in sneakers and streetball. Eventually, it was a big hit and started to recruit more and more NBA players to wear their products. By the 2001 season, only eight years after their inception, they became the second-largest basketball brand in the United States, and so much more happened. But, the founders suddenly sold everything in 2005.
