Phaedra Parks’ ex-husband Apollo Nida finally made his entrance in the August 28th, 2022 episode of Real Housewives of Atlanta after a lot of teases. During Sunday’s RHOA episode, Apollo talked with RHOA star Sheree Whitfield and discussed Sheree’s upcoming show, She by Sheree. Phaedra’s reason for ending her long-time marriage to Apollo was because he had gotten himself into serious legal troubles. In 2014, Apollo was sentenced to prison for the charges of identity theft and fraud. Although Phaedra announced her split from Apollo the same year, they did not reach a divorce settlement until 2017.
Apollo had already served 6-years long prison time prior to the 2014 legal drama. In the early 2000s, he was involved in a car robbery scheme. Once he got out of jail, Phaedra gave him a second chance thinking he would change. As we all know, she turned out to be wrong.
Apollo met his now-fiancee, Sherien Almufti, through his friends in the summer of 2013. For a couple of years, the two remained only friends.
Sherien and Apollo began seeing each other in 2016. As Sherien revealed in one interview, the two shared their first kiss while Apollo was still serving time for fraud. Moreover, Apollo also proposed to Sherien during one of her visits to the jail.
“We’re sitting down and we were holding hands, and then he just looked at me and then he said, ‘Will you marry me?’… I wasn’t expecting it. But I said yes!,” Sherien told.
Apollo got out a yearly early on June 4, 2019, from prison for good behavior. However, within a week, he returned to prison for violating an unspecified parole rule while living in a Philadelphia halfway house.
Sherien came to Apollo’s defense and unapologetically claimed that he did nothing wrong.
As of August 2022, we were not sure if Sherien and Apollo are married. That being said, Sherien did say once that she’ll be marrying Apollo once he gives her a ring.
