Channel 4’s Bake Off: The Professionals Season 5 premiered on May 24, 2022, and like always it saw a line-up of expert chefs competing for that bouquet and a cake stand trophy. Yes, there was no cash prize, whatsoever, for the victor, in case you didn’t know.
Also, the judges this time were Benoit Blin and Cherish Finden and they were joined by the hosts Liam Charles and Stacey Solomon (who replaced comedian Tom Allen).
Jeffery Koo joined this competition alongside his sister-in-law Venus who was working alongside him at his own restaurant. This also means they developed a formidable bond which was definitely reflected during their task on the first set of heats in episodes one to three.
However, Jeffery and Venus weren’t the only ones with the “bonds.” Their co-constantans — Boglarka and Krisztian (co-owner of Jó Szerencsét) were a couple from Hungary with 2 kids, Jeffery and Venus were brother and sister-in-law and had their own business, Mireia Ferreres Luna and Robert Stace both worked at the historic Levens Kitchen for almost 2 years, David and Cydrick were brothers who represented Maison Mayci, and Jemima and Zack represented Puddles Bespoke Patisseries.
Only, Emanuele and Mariola, Antoine and Enrico, and Nathan and Kevin didn’t share much history like the others.
Letting his fans know that he’d be appearing on the popular baking show, Jeffery took it to his IG on May 19, 2022, to write, “It is honour to participate in the well-known TV program in UK @britishbakeoff, Bake off Professional. Channel 4: episode 1 on 24th May at 8 pm.”

Jeffery Koo started his career at 18 years old, working in the kitchens of 5-star hotels in Hong Kong. Eventually, he then started his own patisserie and culinary school and also brought his talents to Cheshire with his new patisserie business A Little Sweet alongside his sister-in-law, Venus.
He has over 20 years of professional experience creating pastries and chocolate in the hospitality industry. And besides the UK, he’s working in countries including Singapore, Taiwan, Vietnam, Korea, and Mainland.
To list all the jobs Jeffery’s ever had, he was an assistant executive pastry chef of Mandarin Oriental (from 1997 to 2010), a pastry chef of Pierre Gagnaire Paris (from Jan to July 2006), a pastry consultant/owner of Patisserie Jeffery Koo and ChocoKoo Cooking Studio (both, ever since 2015).
Reportedly, Jeffery started ChocoKoo Cooking Studio in May 2015 “to offer the taste of the finest desserts from his award-winning team.” His studio was Hong Kong’s first-ever Chocolate Dessert Art Gallery that offered Chocolate Cooking School, a working Chocolate Studio, and a shop where you can buy all your ingredients in Chai Wan.
Besides this, Jeffery has also been the brand ambassador of Capfruit, and Chocolat Weiss.
Also, he has judged HOFEX international Pastry competition in 2013 and 2015, the DGF Mondial des Arts Sucres competition, and US Eggs Competition in 2014.
As for his education, Jeffery attended Vocational Training Council in Hong Kong.
