Bake Off The Professionals returned in 2022 with a brand new series and a very upbeat new co-host Liam Charles, joined by Stacey Solomon. The Great British Bake Off spin-off series first launched in 2016 and like the old times, the new season too introduced to viewers professional pastry chefs competing against one another to win.
Venus Tay is one of them ready to bake up a storm on the Channel 4 show. Now, we shall tell more about him in the rest of this ‘Venus Tay Bio’.
Venus Tay On Bake Off: The Professionals
Venus Tay is introduced to Bake Off: The Professionals viewers as the duo she makes with Jeffery Koo Ka Chun.
Jeffrey as the show puts it is Venus’s brother-in-law and her new patisserie business, A Little Sweet‘s partner.
Introducing them together as business partners full of confidence and enthusiasm, Bake Off tells us they are representing their pastry shop on the show this season.
Jeffrey, the Captain among the two, began working in 5-star kitchens in Hong Kong at just 18 years old, before setting up his own patisserie and culinary school. He eventually brought his talents to Cheshire with his sister-in-law. A seasoned competition chef, Jeffrey has many other medals under his belt, including the World Chocolate Masters. Many a time, he has also been on the other side of the table, judging competitions himself.
The Chinese pastry chef based in the UK is also one of the main apprentices of the Michelin star patisserie Chef Pierre Gagnaire. So, having honed himself with more than 25 years of experience in the industry, he landed on Bake Off: The Professionals to take home the title (of course) and to reach out to a bigger mass than he already has.
Bake Off: The Professionals Series 5 premiered on Channel 4 on 24 May 2022, with Venus and Jeffrey competing in the first set of heats on episodes one to three.
Much like the unprofessional version of The Great British Bake Off, bakers are set a series of challenges to prove which of them is the best baker. The only difference is that these competitors are all professional pastry chefs.
Venus Tay Age
Venus Tay was reportedly born before 1985. So, she likely reached the age of 36 in 2021.
Is Venus Tay On Instagram?
Venus Tay did have an Instagram account (@peanuttay86), but she only had had 3 posts and 36 followers on it as of 23 May 2022. And she also did not allow anyone but these limited users to look at what she shared on the platform.
Luckily, Venus allowed people to peek into her Facebook sharings. And she also handled another IG account (@a_little_sweet_hk) for the shopping and retail that she runs with her brother-in-law.
Venus Tay Husband
Venus Tay did have a husband as of the time of this writing. So far, one could not tell what he is called. (https://theshabazzcenter.org/) But, it was not the news among Venus’s people that they have been together for some good time now. On the 25th of November in 2013, the couple celebrated their 11th anniversary of Japanese dating. “Blink of an eye for 11 years, thank you for taking the time to give me a series of surprises every year 🙂 I hope I can get along well in the future, and cherish everyone more so that I can have more 11th anniversaries!😘！Love U!”, Venus had taken to her social media to write the translation of this seeming Japanese.
In this manner, Venus used to share now and then glimpses of her husband from likely their dinner date, birthday, and anniversary celebrations. However, these instances were from until 2013. Venus has not likely featured him on her social media in recent times. Their only child is an exception though. Venus often shared her motherly glimpses online. One can actually see her baby girl grow over years on her Facebook wall.
The young one came into Venus and her husband’s life in likely June of 2012.
Other family members that we know of Venus are Flora Tay, Ezza Koo, and Chee Sang Koo. We could however not tell yet how Venus is related to them.
Venus Tay Job
The only job that we knew of Venus Tay’s is the one she has at A Little Sweet, a “brand concept” by prior-mentioned Jeffery, who has been in 20 years of working experience in related to desserts and chocolatiers. Their products are mainly health-oriented and all designed and monitored by Jeffery.
Meanwhile, we were not quite sure of Venus’s role in the bakery business.
