Jenny wrote, “When I was air-lifted to Little Rock after going into preterm labor with the twins, my parents didn’t hesitate for a moment. They jumped in the car and drove overnight to be with me at the hospital. When the boys made their arrival a month later, once again, they rushed to be here. They flew to Branson and then drove in a flurry to be here to meet their new grand-babies. They stayed with me at the hospital and donned the protective gear during NICU visits for weeks”
She continued, “When the doctor decided to schedule a c-section for Charlotte’s arrival, my parents flew in the night before and were here to watch the boys and were the ones to bring them to the hospital to meet their new baby sister. When we were given 24 hours’ notice that Sylvie was finally allowed to leave her birth country, my parents jumped in their car and drove the 17 hours to be here with us to meet the granddaughter they’ve loved for years from across an ocean.”
Jenny added, “And, when little Luke surprised us with an early arrival, once again, they scrambled to be here. They spent a week loving on our newest little man as well as making sure the big four never felt left out during those intense newborn days. They’ve always been intentional with their time and love. They’ve always put family first They’ve always been here for the moments that matter most.”
Jenny and her husband Dave built a home for her parents and after 16 years of traveling back and forth from Orlando to NW Arkansas, they are staying near Jenny’s family.
On Christmas Day 2020, Jenny shared that her parents were 17 hours car ride away and now they were up the street which was the best thing to come out of 2020 for her family.

Steve Smith is the father of HGTV star Jenny Marrs. He was born to his parents Shirley J. Smith and Dale Smith. His parents married on 9 August 1952 and stayed married till Dale’s death in 1993. The family moved from Chicago to Sioux City, Iowa, to Orlando, Florida.
