Kate Chastain Gave Birth

On May 5, 2023, Kate Chastain announced via IG post that she’s given birth to her first child, a baby boy named Sullivan Cay. In the photo, she was seen holding her little one in her arms in her hospital room. Naturally, congratulations flooded in on the comment section.

“Awww congratulations,” Garcelle Beauvais wrote, while Ryan Lochte shared, “Soo happy for you.”

The news about Sullivan’s birth comes five months after the Below Deck alum announced her pregnancy on IG. In the Dec 2022 post, she wrote, “I am absolutely thrilled to become a mother. It’s something I’ve always hoped for so this is truly a dream come true!”

She later gushed “It’s been the easiest pregnancy ever,” noting that the experience made her feel “so lucky.”

Also, she revealed her decision to raise her child as a single parent. However, she was open to any help from the child’s father.

Fans are convinced that Ben Robinson is Kate Chastain’s baby father. Given he was the Below Deck alum’s last boyfriend and the ambiguous IG post (where he and Kate posed in the way that couples traditionally announce pregnancies), he might very well be her baby daddy.

In case you missed the post, it read, “Who knew that Kate Chastain and I would be the same weight one day… But to be fair I have been hitting the gym! Please wish my great friend an easy delivery and a healthy beautiful baby! I am so proud of who you have become and the mother you will soon be.”

However, the ex-couple never confirmed Sullivan was their baby. Even when she first revealed her pregnancy on Andy Cohen’s clubhouse on Watch What Happens Live, she refrained from sharing her baby daddy’s name. In fact, she laughed off the matter joking with Andy that the pregnancy resulted from her and the Bravo exec’s “sloppy night” at BravoCon.

Now, as for why Josiah Carter couldn’t be the baby father. The answer’s simple — Josiah Carter is gay. He got engaged to his longtime boyfriend, Michael Groves in February 2022 after four years of dating.

Also, Kate and Josiah weren’t on speaking terms. The two might have appeared together during the Below Deck 100th episode celebration, but they didn’t share the same chemistry as they did on the boat. “She doesn’t speak to me anymore,” Josiah shared. “I have no idea why. When we filmed the reunion, we were fine.” He added that Kate left a few of his messages unread and didn’t respond.

This reality star started her yachting career in 2007. Initially, she only planned on taking a “gap year” after college graduation to work on boats. Kate Chastain was born to her parents, Tim and Gina M Chastain.

Sadly, her father, Tim passed away in April 2023. He was the owner of Chastain’s Landing and a guide at Fin Expeditions.

As for Kate’s mother, Gina turned 63 the same month Tim passed away.
