Kaylin Hedges was given the second platinum ticket in the show and as a result, during Hollywood Week, she performed a duet of Queen’s “Don’t Stop Me Now” with fellow Platinum ticket holder Tyson Venegas. The two engraved the judges with their rendition, with Luke Bryan and Katy Perry even taking to social media to show that they got goosebumps from their performance.
Before this, during the audition round, Kaylin wowed the judges with her rendition of “I’m Already There” by Lonestar. This had gone on air during the February 26 episode. Not only her singing but also her story moved the judges to the extent to gift her with a Platinum Ticket.
During her introduction to the show, Kaylin gushed that since the age of 5, she always watched and therefore aspired to be on Idol. She opened up that the show has held a special place in her heart.

Before Kaylin started writing her original songs and musicals, she went on stage for the first time when she was 6. It was a performance of a sheep in a regional theatre production of “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” which she loved so much that she promised herself to never stop.

He turned 39 years old in 2023.
During her audition performance, Kaylin shared with everyone that she has grown up mostly without her dad who has his job in the military keeping him. Nonetheless, she loves him and her dad too has been glum about him missing her birthday 9 years in a row. Kaylin, not expecting to see him until next year, was greatly amazed when he was right behind her on the stage. She had rushed to him and he enveloped her in one big embrace. In a July 2019 Facebook post about her “pursuing a career in casting”, Kaylin’s mom said she had only been a military wife and a mom to “2 wonderful daughters” for the past 15 years. She had graduated from the CSA casting assistant program and was “truly excited” to fulfill her own passions and desire in the arts. On her Facebook, the matriarch also mentioned being a certified substitute teacher. She turned 37 in January 2023.
Kaylin is also very fond of her one and only sibling, her sister Emalyn. Back in September 2018, when Kaylin had her first day of school in 6th grade, the youngest Emalyn had hers in 3rd grade.
