Discovery Plus’s High Design is the first cannabᎥs design makeover show. Stepping into the taboo zone, Kim Myles shared that there have been other reality shows in this space, like Netflix’s Cooking on High, but High Design definitely is one of its kind.
“No one’s high here, but everyone is in high spirits,” she explained before adding that the people on the set were having more fun than the ones watching them. But while Kim’s love for pot is one thing, the show’s more about helping those struggling small businesses. And being a customer herself, in addition to her design acumen, empathy, and ebullience, the remodeled shop was definitely in for better days.
With this being said, helping a marijuana business wasn’t easy. Some rules and regulations made the business complicated. “The margins are really tight. It’s really complex, the business, and the last thing on their mind is the retail environment,” Kim explained.
Also, the rules stated that neither Kim nor her production crew can legally touch the space — from changing the floor plan to organizing the products.
But then again, this very changing nature was what made High Design so interesting to watch. Furthermore, Kim’s determination to try and involve the local community, people to tell a community story, ll wrapped into these tiny shops, the show was perfect for a niche audience.
Overall, High Design is entertaining, informative, and “it’s all one grand adventure in a world that nobody has explored before.”

Talking more about her time as a hairstylist, Kim’s been in the business for over 20 years. Her approach to hair is “less work, more life.” Admittedly, “listening and identifying hidden potential” are two of her superpowers and she’s been known to create beautiful, low-maintenance hairstyles.

Yes, Kim Myles is married. Her husband, Scott Myles is a graphic designer by profession. They were married in March 1997 at Gramercy Park, and have spent over 25 years of married life together.
In 2007, the husband-wife used to run an ice cream shop in New York City named 5 Boroughs Ice Cream. One of their flavors called Staten Island Landfill even caused some controversy and ultimately led them to be a boycott in the area. Two years later, the duo shut down their business and moved to LA.
As for their kids, we’ve no idea if they have any. But they do share a cute dog named Maizy.
