Max Djenohan, who previously participated in Naked and Afraid, is now on Race to Survive Alaska paired up with Christian Junkar. So, this means he’ll be going on another survival journey, only this time with clothes on.

Max Djenohan On Race to Survive: Alaska
On USA Network’s brand-new show Race to Survive Alaska, eight teams of two including Max Djenohan and Christian Junkar came together to battle it out in the Alaskan wilderness for a chance to win $500,000. These teams participated in six intense races over 40 days without planes, trains, and automobiles to help them get around. Infact, they had to endure more than 100 miles of inhospitable, previously unexplored terrain on the strength of their own two feet with nothing but only what they can carry.
So, this meant Max had to utilize his primitive survival skills to source his own food, water, and shelter. Moreover, being on the dangerous Alaskan coastline, marked by its sprawling mountain ranges, ancient glaciers, suffocating rainforests, and threatening wildlife, certainly didn’t make things easier.
However, the game wasn’t so new to this contestant as he’s previously competed in Naked and Afraid. Infact, he’s been on three spin-offs of the show from 2018 to 2022. After completing the game, he said that when you’re stranded, “The first thing you need is shelter … or fire, it’s kind of a debate. And then you need some way to procure water to hydrate. Then you go find food.”
Joining Max and Christian for the inaugural season of Race to Survive Alaska were their co-stars Jeff and Hunter Leininger (father-son duo), Robin Moore and Elizabeth Killham (friends and adventurers), Brett Gattenand Esther Sanderlin (Alaskan hunters), Wilson and Oliver Hoogendorn (siblings), and Cason and Bella Crane (siblings).

Max Djenohan was born to his parents, Maggie D. Sparkman and Francois Djenohan.
His mother, Maggie is a Seattle, Washington native who attended UC Santa Cruz. After graduation, she joined Siegel & Gale as a product assistant, then Wasser, Inc as a technical editor, and finally Microsoft as a content developer in July 1995. She’s been employed there ever since.

Likewise, on Father’s Day 2015, Max dedicated a post to his sculptor Ivorian African father on FB, “Happy Father’s Day to this boss. #Cheers.”
Sadly, Max’s parents have long divorced. After separation, Maggie then went on to find love with Jim Kurdy and married him in April 2006.
Max’s stepfather, Jim is from Grangeville, Idaho. He studied watchmaking, accounting, and business at North Seattle Community College and went to work as a watchmaker at Ben Bridge Jewelers.
As for Max’s sibling, he has a sister named Zora Djenohan. They’re an artist like their father and also a law clerk at Earthjustice. Zora received their law degree from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law.
Max Djenohan Wife
Max Djenohan married his wife Chelsea Anastasia Pello on November 11, 2022. Their wedding was held at Villa La Semilla, a secret villa quietly nestled on the beach at Soliman Bay.
Recalling the day, Max said that it was a “truly magical” experience. “The amount of pure joy and energy we felt throughout our ceremony and party was something I won’t soon forget! I have never cried so many tears of joy in my life,” he added.
Their wedding came 3 ½ years after their engagement at Reflection Canyon Utah. The delay was also partly due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Luckily, they were quarantined together in 2020 and felt no rush to tie the knot.
His wife, Chelsea is a Bothell, Washington native. She’s a registered nurse practicing Pain Management in Bothell, WA. Also, she’s a Functional Health and Wellness fanatic.
Max Djenohan Job
In 2023, Max Djenohan was working with the Service Board, a nonprofit based out of Seattle, Washington. The org has been serving the greater Seattle area for 26 years, promoting social justice, equity, and opportunities for BIPOC youth to gain access to the outdoors.
Also, he’s a photographer selling many of his prints on his website, where he says he “is seldom seen without a camera in his hand.”
But overall, Max’s an outdoorsman. He’s hiked the 550-mile Washington section of the Pacific Crest Trail and has traveled throughout the world documenting his adventures
