On 13 September 2022, The Great British Bake Off returned again with Season 13 on Channel 4. Once again, viewers were introduced to a line-up of aspiring bakers to battle it out in the famous bunting-laden gazebo. Among these plucky bakers is Maxy Maligisa we shall tell all about her in this writing called ‘Maxy Maligisa Bio’.
Maxy Maligisa On GBBO Great British Bake Off 2022
In recent years, the series has started with a total of 12 contestants who, after 10 weeks of intense competition, are whisked down to the final three. In the same way, Italian-born Bristolian Giuseppe Dell’Anno was crowned the winner last year beating fellow finalists Chigs Parmar and Crystelle Pereira.
Talking about this season, Maxy Maligisa, like every other contestant, hoped of taking home the coveted Bake Off cake stand.
About appearing on the show, Maxy said she has always been a Bake Off fan, but she never expect to ever be in the tent baking. Why? Because she did not feel she was a good enough baker. Yet her friends and family always disagreed and urged her to apply but she never knew if they were actually being serious or not.
Maxy, however, decided to apply in the end. But still, she never anticipated receiving a callback. So, when she received a call confirming her place she was in disbelief, and over the moon.
As for her strength and weakness, Maxy shared that her cakes are her strength and her bread and pastries are her weaknesses. She would be keeping just that in mind during this whole competition on GBBO.
Maxy and her eleven other fellow opponents were joined by judges Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood and presenters Matt Lucas and Noel Fielding.
After episode 1 of the season, Guardian’s Scott Bryan took to comment “Maxy’s bake is a little rough around the edges (aren’t we all?) but thankfully the flavors are in there. I reckon she is through to next week.” Also having reviewed all other contestants’ baking, he finally concluded that there are some delightful bakers this year. For him, he said, Maxy, Syabira, Sandro, Abdul, and Carole stood out as particular favorites.
Maxy Maligisa Husband
On the screens of GBBO, Maxy introduced herself also as a mother to two little puddings among other things. They are her daughters, Tyra and Talia and Maxy actually paused her final qualifications to raise them. Nevertheless, she never talked about her husband/baby father. We also noticed that she only highlighted “Mum to 2 Diamond Darlings” and not being someone’s wife on her Instagram BIO.

Maxy Maligisa was born in Stockholm, the capital of Sweden but has been a South Londoner since she was 8 years old. Her mother is from Tanzania and her father is from Congo and Angola. As a result, Maxy is effortless when it comes to the languages Swahili, Swedish, Lingála, and British.

Speaking of her education, Maxy got her bachelor’s degree in Architecture from De Montfort University from 2011 through 2014. Before that, she also studied A Levels at City and Islington College between 2009 and 2011 and graduated from high school (City of London Academy) in 2009. At City College, she studied Fine Art, Geography, and Psychology.
From 2015 through 2018, Maxy did a Master of Architecture at De Montfort University.
As for baking, she started doing it five years ago following the arrival of her first daughter. She used her fine artistic merit to create beautifully decorated celebration cakes. Her Scandinavian influences can be seen in her choice of flavors like the cinnamon rolls and the sweet and delicate spice of cardamom and saffron buns.
Fast forward to now and she was hoping to put her building talents to good use in those tricky biscuit-construction challenges.
