Meet Jamey Joseph, Jody Potts-Joseph Husband
National Geographic‘s Life Below Zero franchise keeps on expanding, and in May 2022, we got Life Below Zero: First Alaskans. It featured five individuals all using different techniques and methods to thrive in the brutal environment of Alaska. However, amongst all others, the show was centered around the daily life of Jamey’s wife, Jody Potts-Joseph.
Giving away their love for otherworldly inventions, Jamey and Jody have been leading their lives in the freezing temperature of Alaska. However, it was only on July 3, 2021, that the duo walked the aisle to officially become husband/wife.
Recalling their wedding, Jody shared that she wore a traditional dress made by her mother Adeline Juneby Potts, and a belt made by Summer Sky. As for her maid of honor, she was Quannah Rose ChasingHorse Potts, while the flowers were held by Sharon Claw-Watson.
Also, Jody revealed that they had originally planned to get married in May 2020. But sadly, the COVID-19 pandemic hit the world, and they had to postpone. “Jamey Joseph and I are postponing our wedding for a year due to Covid19. I was teasing Jamey, “I know you’re in a rush to wife me up but there’s a pandemic.” He sure laughed at that one,” Jody revealed the news v.i.a. FB at the time.
Aside from Jody’s family, there were 4 more families featured on Life Below Zero: First Alaskans that season, each walking in two worlds — one of the traditional ways and one of the 21st-century challenges. Jody Potts-Joseph and her family lived on land by the Yukon River, Marvin Agnot’s waited for tides to survive, Joel Jacko’s family lived a life of self-reliance, Steven Strassburg taught his seven children ancient methods of survival, and Daniel Apassingok’s family relied on the Bering Sea to survive.
