Maggie Robinson first met Greg Glassman back in 2013. At the time, she was working as a waitress at a restaurant the CrossFit owner frequented in San Diego. And soon they fell in love. Well, at least this is the version of the story Greg prefers to tell.
But in reality, it was Dale Saran, Greg’s head of legal who first asked Maggie out on a date. Unfortunately, he fell asleep in the Jacuzzi and someone had to take her home. That certain “someone” was Greg.
Given, Greg had just come out of a marriage, and Maggie, a struggling waitress, we can picture how they could have connected thereafter.
In case you don’t know, Greg was married to Lauren Jenai until 2013. Although the two filed for divorce in the year 2009, the hassle of diving their business CrossFit into two haves was never-ending. In fact, it was only finalized after Lauren gave up half of her business.
Reportedly, Lauren received $16.2 million. But the 4-year divorce struggle she spent, raising 4 children on her own, led her into such a negative spiral that she ended up in depression.
Now, CrossFit’s much better valued than it was in 2009 when the separation of assets took place. Reportedly, Greg obtained the financing he needed in the form of loans from other companies with which he had a close relationship to meet the $16.2 million that belonged to his ex-wife.
Likewise, Lauren’s also in a much better place now. Today, she’s the owner of Manifest, a company to help those who are not elite athletes become healthier. However, her love life is still a mess.
The last we checked, she was in a “complicated” relationship with her soon-to-be second husband Franklin Tyrone Tucker. Ironically, she still had to pay $75,000 bail money for Franklin — which was initially $2 million! They were expected to divorce after Franklin’s case gets resolved.
As for Greg’s first marriage, it was with Brande Jones, his childhood neighbor.
