TikTok star and private chef Meredith Hayden is one of the two children of Nancy Hayden and Tom Hayden.
Meredith, who was born on January 17, 1996, turned 27 in 2023.
Meredith recently announced that she is taking a break from the career that launched her into fame. The TikTok star of WishBoneKitchen on TikTok revealed on Friday that she is “stepping away” from her position as a private chef. She rose to fame after recording films documenting her insane hours and enormous dishes as a private chef in the Hamptons (New York’s upscale coastal towns) for clothing designer Joseph Altuzarra. She now has more than 2 million followers on TikTok.
Meredith began her video by stating her reasons for leaving the Hamptons early. “It’s some exciting news,” she said with a grin. “I’m officially writing my debut cookbook which is so exciting and also so overwhelming at the same time.” She continued by saying she faces some “pretty intense deadlines” in order to publish the book by 2025.
“I’m a very hands-on person like I can’t just hand this off to somebody and not be super involved in every single recipe that gets put in the book because you can put a recipe book out and literally not make any of the recipes, did you know that?” she asked. “I did not know that.”
Meredith added that she is “very determined” to write and prepare each recipe in the book. This implies that she will have to compose “over a hundred recipes in the next four months,” she said with a terrified expression on her face and a trembling chuckle.
“For context, writing one recipe a week is hard,” Meredith said. “I’m now going to have to write five.” She said that she doesn’t take “cutting the season short” lightly and that she is sad to leave her job but “life moves on.”
Meredith wasn’t afraid to talk about how social media has helped her grow her brand and company, enabling her to turn her private chef service into a full-time endeavor. She claimed that because of sponsorships, she is only working with one client and using her TikTok earnings to augment her income.
“In the past, I would be juggling multiple clients at a time, but with TikTok, I’ve been able to stick to my primary client exclusively,” she told Insider.
“Back before I started doing TikTok and working as a private chef was my only source of income, I had zero knowledge of what anyone else was charging,” she said. “The only knowledge I had was how much I needed to be charging in order to pay my bills.”
Meredith began by “working backward” and setting client fees based on the very minimum she needed to earn each month. Later, she discovered that she was drastically undercharging for her services. “I wasn’t really making out or getting rich off of these gigs in the slightest,” she said.
“I thought that I was being so slick with, ‘Oh, I’m going to charge them an extra a hundred dollars here and extra a hundred dollars there.’ But in reality, the value of the service that I had been providing was so much more than what I was charging,” Meredith added.

Meet Nancy Hayden, Meredith Hayden Mother
Nancy Hayden is the mother of Meredith Hayden. She is the daughter of Nancy Jean Presnell Ralls and Dr. Marion Lee “Lefty” Ralls.
Nancy was born on August 4, 1928, to the late John Garland Presnell and Harriette Pringle Presnell. She was a graduate of Guilford School and Guilford College with a major in physical education. Jean was inducted into the Guilford College Athletic Hall of Fame and was an avid supporter of Guilford College.
Besides Nancy, John and Harriette also had children named John Ralls (Lynn Stafford Ralls) of High Point, Charles Ralls and Steven Ralls both of Greensboro, and daughters Louanne Ralls Ledbetter (Dan) of Greensboro.
Born in March 1957, Nancy is age 66. She attended Western Guilford High School followed by Appalachian State University.
Meet Tom Hayden, Meredith Hayden Father
Meredith Hayden’s father is known as Tom Hayden. Tom reached age 66 in March 1957.
Tom is a Smithsonian Networks’ general manager and executive vice president. He is also in charge of Showtime Networks, Inc. The Smithsonian Networks, a Showtime, and Smithsonian Institution joint venture was created and launched in large part because of Tom. In September 2007, the network introduced an HD channel, and a year later the channel became the newest network to win an Emmy.
Tom has held a number of executive positions at Showtime Networks since joining the company in 1989, including senior vice president of strategy and development, senior vice president of business planning and analysis, executive vice president in the Direct-To-Home division, vice president of financial services, and director of national accounts.
Tom worked for Kraft Foods, Inc. for 12 years before joining Showtime, where he performed a number of sales and marketing jobs. Hayden has served as the T. Howard Foundation’s board chairman since 2010, an organization that offers young minority men and women internships in the media and entertainment sectors.
Tom is the son of Thomas J. Hayden, Jr. and Joan Hayden. Born in Philadelphia, PA, Tom lived in Bala Cynwyd for most of his childhood and adult life. Before he retired Tom enjoyed a long and successful career with Girard Bank and its successor companies in Philadelphia. Tom was a graduate of St. Josephs Prep and Villanova University. Tom was also a long-standing member of St. Matthias Church.
Thomas Jr. died on January 12, 2009, from complications due to cancer at the age of 76.
