Meet Millie Mclay from BBC Three’s Love In The Flesh.
BBC Three is premiering a new reality show titled Love In The Flesh. Online dating is not so new after the recent pandemic where interaction with people outside of their own family was proven a luxury. So, dating someone online and meeting for the first time IRL is filled with excitement as well as anxiety, certainly sounds something like Catfish, but the show isn’t about the latter.
In the show, five couple meets offline for the first time in a Greek lush beach house to see whether the connection the couple built on the internet retains in the real world. The first two episodes of the show premiered on 23 March 2022 out of eight. Their first meeting will be face to face and they compete in laid out challenges to “explore different sides of their relationships”.
The show will be hosted by Zara McDermott. She will be the couple’s confidante and advisor as they proceed through these challenges. She told, “It truly reflects the current dating climate for young people that are living in a digital age and constantly glued to screens. This show is about interrogating how far online chemistry can go without that in-person connection.”
Love In The Flesh: Are Millie Mclay And Shelby Barrett Still Together?
Millie is dating NHS worker and podcaster (Gossip in the Closet), Shelby, after meeting each other ten months before filming the show. Both of the two believe they have found the one, so they must’ve built a strong connection with each other. Before the show, they attempted to meet in person however, Millie had a nasty accident involving a horse and had to undergo five surgeries.
But Millie is cautious about Shelby’s true intentions. She doubts if she is making connections with her to gain social media followers. As for Shelby, she falls and falls very hard for people so much so that in her last relationship she and her partner moved in within a few weeks into the meeting, sadly things didn’t work out.

But, the best we could hope for is they make it work and work genuinely to build their relationship, or at least remain friends. As for the progression of the rest of their relationship, all viewers have to see it unfold on BBC Three.

The pain was absolutely unbearable – it was the most painful thing I’ve ever experienced.”
But, the hairy leg went viral on Tiktok and a few of the TikTok crossed 40 million+ views on the platform. She was ridiculed online because of that and she even advocated against body shaming. She even made headlines on The Sun and Daily Star.
