When Christian attacked her after stalking her for a few weeks, Clenney allegedly acted in self-defense, according to her counsel.
The Herald claimed that the couple had been living together at the apartment complex for a few months when personnel saw several domestic disturbances and even attempted to evict them.
Obumseli’s relatives and friends had been waiting for answers about their loved one’s death for four months. They disagree with Courtney’s lawyer’s allegations that he had been abusive against her and contend that she was the aggressor in the relationship.
Fernandez Rundle claimed the clip showed “the defendant aggressively attacking Christian,” adding, “I think [the video] was a descriptive way to show what the relationship was and who the aggressor was.” Fernandez explained that on 3 April, Courtney stabbed Obumseli with a six-inch blade that penetrated three inches into his chest and pierced his subclavian artery, killing him.
