Naomie Jessop Bio, Age, Now, Warren Jeffs First Wife

Naomie Jessop is the favorite wife of Warren Jeffs, the notorious cult leader who is the subject of Peacock’s true-crime docuseries Preaching Evil. For a large part, the show was filmed from the perspective of Naomie, Warren’s “favorite wife”, and his former wife Vicki Thompson.

Her meticulous records of Warren’s remarks, trips, and illicit activities, on the other hand, helped prosecutors develop a “roadmap for criminal behavior” that led to his arrest. Preaching Evil features Naomie heavily, in which she narrates the tale of her background and experience in the church.

The show has four parts and explores the  “culture of sexual abuse” that Jeffs fostered at the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (FLDS), a polygamy-centric sect of the Mormon Church created in 1930 and designated a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center.

So, keep scrolling because, here, you’ll learn about her age, her current status, and her role in the church.

Meet Naomie Jessop, Warren Jeffs Youngest Wife

Naomie Jessop was the favorite wife of Warren Jeffs, the president and prophet of FLDS in 2002. She was reportedly 2 years old when she joined FLDS in 1993.

Her spouse is said to have run his church like a dictator, separating families, prohibiting all outside socialization, and controlling a 44-room home. Short Creek, Utah, is on the boundary of Hildale, Utah, and Colorado City, Arizona, where the religion was founded.

Along with Naomie, all the other women were forced to wear conservative prairie dresses and were assigned to men at Warren’s leisure. Besides Naomie, Warren allegedly had other 79 wives all for himself. He often preached “For a man to become a god, he must have a plurality of wives”.

Jeff had become a leader of the FLDS in 2002 after the death of his father Rulon T. Jeffs. Warren was named principal of the Alta Academy, a school for FLDS students when he was 18 years old. The high-profile role gave the youngster the opportunity to start exercising control over the submissive girls who would become his victims.

“Keep Sweet” was one of the messages Rulon and Warren shared with their youthful followers. It was loosely construed as a command to wear a smile on your face. But it offered a potentially ominous message for abuse victims: if they remained smiling, their attackers wouldn’t bother them.

His father had the phrase inscribed on the soles of his shoes. After his father’s death, he literally wore the shoes too. Almost 24 of his wives were the age of 12 or 13. Nearly 56 of Warren’s wives were sisters and 29 of his wives were also married to his father.

Jeffs was placed on the FBI’s most-wanted list in 2005 after forcing two adolescent girls into marriages with adult men. He was arrested in 2006, and in 2011, the Texas Department of Criminal Justice’s Louis C. Powledge Unit found him guilty of molesting two girls and sentenced him to life in prison.

There is little information regarding what happened to all of Warren Jeffs’ wives because the group is so secretive. Here’s what we know about his wives who have publicly expressed their displeasure with him.

Returning to Naomie, she was previously married to Rulon. She married Warren after Rulon died. She was well-versed in FLDS’ inner workings and was regarded as a close confidante. According to reports, they frequently hung out outside of community activities, with her even going so far as to wear a tank top, capris, and sandals with him once.

Where Is Naomie Jessop Now?

According to the reports, Naomie Jessop delivered the sermon, which successfully convinced the FLDS to follow Warren Jeffs as their Prophet. She was Warren’s scribe, while he was in hiding. She penned the majority of his Priesthood Dictations, during that time period.

Moreover, she was even in the red Escalade with him when he was taken into custody.

Moreover, she was prominently featured in the memoirs of both Carolyn Jessop and Rebecca Musser. In Escape, she was the head of the Nusses; a group of rival classmates, who were all sisters that became Carolyn’s step-daughters. In The Witness Wore Red, she was a sister-wife of Becky. Naomi gets credit for giving Becky some highly effective fellatio pointers. The evidence in Warren’s TX trial suggests that she may have played a key role in at least one of the crimes that currently have Warren Jeffs incarcerated.

She was the primary inspiration for Alby Grant’s wife Lura, in HBO’s Big Love.

Naomie and her brother were with Warren Jeffs when he was apprehended for good in August 2006 after being pulled over in Nevada for his car’s license plate not being visible. The latter two, on the other hand, were released after questioning since there was no proof against them, and the denomination leader’s then-wife allegedly chose to avoid the spotlight.

As a result, we don’t know much about her current situation as of writing, except for the fact that she is alive, well, and no longer believed to be with Warren. With that said, we presume Naomie opted to be a part of the documentary series in order to move on from the past for good because it would have impacted her life in multiple ways anyway.

In 2011, DailyMail shared Jeff, Clad in leathers, on a motorbike, with Naomie Jessop clutching his waist.
