Meet Nikki Duncan, Richard Duncan Wife
Richard Duncan, a tattoo artist from the Black Ink Crew, is married to Nikki Duncan. Throughout Black Ink Crew: New York, they exchanged vows in the summer of 2016.
The married couple met when Richard came to Oakland, California. He was guest spotting at a tattoo shop and she went out there with her friend.
Nikki explained: “She’s like a fan or whatever. She wanted to get a tattoo. And I didn’t have anything better to do, so I was like ‘alright, I’m gonna go with y’all.’ I went out there, and he was tattooing, and he was really shy, he didn’t really wanna talk to me. He was kinda like stuck up a little bit, and at that point, it was like “Why doesn’t he wanna talk to me?” But then we ended up hitting it off and we dated long distance for a while, so I would come out here to New York, and he would come out to California. We did that for a little bit, and yeah, that’s how it went.”
After dating for two months long distance, she would go out to New York while Richard go to San Francisco. She said: “So we probably did the back-and-forth thing for three or four months.“
Since being married, they have welcomed a daughter into the world named Nova-Rae Rose though she had shared that she had no plans to start a family immediately. The married couple owned their first house in 2017.
Nikki announced it on her now-deleted IG: “From our tiny NY apartment (which I still love) to now taking on a HOME (and about 3000 more sq feet lol) @ohshitsad and I are so blessed ❤️️?? The pair previously had marital issues that led to their separation, but they later decided to get back together after finding out they were having a girl. Richard already has five kids with three different women and currently lives in Atlanta, Georgia.
It is unclear if they are still married. Nikki hasn’t appeared on Richard’s Instagram since February 2021. The caption for the post read: “Soul tied.” Before that, Richard thanked Nikki for enabling him to open a shop “I couldn’t have done this without you pushing me to chase my dream and I love the shit outta you.”
Nikki was allegedly previously married to Brandon Wiley (Idaho Vandals basketball player) with who he shared a son. She has two children from a previous relationship. On Black Ink Crew Ep. 14, a woman who claimed to know Nikki’s secret child came to the shop. The woman claimed to be a friend of her ex-husband Brandon Wiley, and that she used to babysit both of Nikki’s sons.
The woman also added that she was at the baby shower for her second child, but Nikki has a pattern. According to the woman Nikki’s dirty laundry is that she tends to have kids and then bails on being a mom.

Nikki is also working as a Creative Director, Creative Strategy at Be Rooted. Within this role, she acts as an innovative leader with a proven track record in creative direction and project management, steering the vibrant and culturally rich narrative of a Black-owned stationery and lifestyle brand presently available in Target retailers nationwide.
Furthermore, Nikki is self-employed as Freelance Creative Director, Social Media Marketing since 2020.
Nikki kicked off her career as Family Resource Center Director at TRI Commercial in 2010. After two years, she was a resident services coordinator at Mercy Housing California from 2012 to 2015.
After quitting her job, she was employed as a Housing & Community Development Services Manager at the Mayor’s Office of Housing & Community Development from 2015 to 2017. COMMUNITY ACTION FOR IMPROVEMENT, INC. has also hired Nikki as Director Of Community Services (Sep 2017 – Mar 2019) and Snob Life Studios as a Creative Strategist, Brand Management from 2018 to 2022.
