The goal was to explore the real-life challenges and baggage that these singles bring to the table, creating a unique and authentic dating experience.
As for the cast, it featured a diverse group of 18 singles, each with their own aspirations and backgrounds. From a software sales manager and a health and wellness coach to a TV and film producer and an entrepreneur, the participants came from various professions and walks of life. The age range of the singles ensured a deeper exploration of the complexities and nuances of relationships for individuals in their 30s and 40s.
So, Phil’s journey began with a Mansion Mixer, where the cast members met for the first time and started forming connections. However, even before the night ended, two individuals bid their farewells, setting the stage for the intense and emotional journey ahead.
Later, the female contestants were given the power to decide which male singles they don’t want to pursue further, and vice versa. This meant that the remaining singles were to continue their pursuit of love, navigating love triangles, drama, and broken hearts along the way.

Phil Newkirt comes from a family of four.
Sadly, his father, Phillip Newkirt Sr. took his last breath on March 14, 2022, at the age of 63. He worked with the City of Detroit as a member of the parks and recreation team.
Phil loved his father to the moon. So much that he’s been to Detroit over four times, and yet he couldn’t go through with dividing his ashes. After his dad’s death, he focused a lot on “therapy, working out, and eating better” and now he found “inner peace.:
“My dad was sweet, kind, funny, lovable, and had a great spirit. I’m thankful for my childhood because of what he taught me from cutting grass, cooking breakfast food, sports, and how to balance humor with real-life conversations,” Phil paid his dad a tribute on his IG. “The pain of losing my first best friend is indescribable. I wish we talked more in the past few years, but each conversation was always cherished as if we talk just days beforehand.”
Likewise, Phil’s talked about his mother a few times on his socials. “We went through some rough times during my high school years, but by this point we were A-1. I love this woman,” he once wrote.

Phil Newkirt worked as a Supply Chain Leader at FRITO LAY in 2023. There, he directed the management of forecasted demand and supply plans to ensure timely shipment of products.
Prior to this, Phil worked as an Independent Claims Professional for various companies and took on roles such as Desk Adjuster, Supplements Adjuster, Quality Assurance, File Reviewer, Complex Auto Liability, Claims Coordinator, and Catastrophe Claims Adjuster, for over 4 years.
He’s also been a General Liability Adjuster at Zurich North America, a Homeowners Liability Claims Analyst at Liberty Mutual Insurance, and ELCO Claims Representative at Enterprise Rent-A-Car.
As for his education, Phil attended Western Michigan University for his Bachelor in Integrated Supply Management from 1999 to 2004.
