Bravo’s Summer House: Martha’s Vineyard featured 11 Black entrepreneurs including Preston Mitchum who made the summer of 2023 even hotter with a lot of relationship drama, friendship scuffles, and love triangles, that kept viewers coming back for more.
“I’m sitting with being excited!” Preston shared before the premiere. “Of course, there’s like some nerves around it. Hopefully, it has high ratings.”
Also, he took it to his IG to write, “ Do you get the 🍆? Do you not get the 🍆? – A poet. Have you checked out the NEW trailer to our NEW show “Summer House: Martha’s Vineyard?” If so, what are you looking forward to? If not, what are you waiting for?”
According to him, the cast was just being themselves and that was what being in Summer House was all about. The thing he loved the most about the show was how organic their friendship was. “I think the viewers at home will see like what happens in friendship — like you love each other, sometimes you don’t love each other and then it’s how do you resolve conflict within friendships,” he added.
Also, the star mentioned that Bria Fleming’s dog Milo was the “least problematic” housemate.” As a dog owner himself, he loved being around Milo and knew Bria was bringing him along.

Preston Mitchum is a Black queer attorney, advocate, and activist. He founded PDM Consulting — a consulting firm focused on the power of Black people, LGBTQ+ people, and young people — in March 2023, right after leaving Georgetown University Law Center as an Adjunct Professor Of Law.
Before founding PDM, Preston was a Director of Advocacy and Government Affairs at the Trevor Project for almost 2 years. Also, was the Director Of Public Policy at URGE: Unite for Reproductive & Gender Equity for exactly 2 years.
Furthermore, he worked as a Senior Legal & International Policy Analyst at Advocates for Youth from Aug 2017 to Sep 2019 and Center for Health and Gender Equity from Aug 2015 to Aug 2017.
From June 2014 to August 2015, Preston also worked as a Judicial Law Clerk for Honorable S. Pamela Gray and Honorable Errol R. Arthur at the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. For a year before that, he was a Policy Analyst, LGBT Policy and Racial Justice at the Center for American Progress.
His earliest job reported was as a Behavioral Health Initiative at National Coalition for LGBT Health in 2012.
Overall, in his 10+ years of legal and policy experience, Preston has served in multiple roles at nonprofit organizations to center the voices of historically oppressed communities.
