Netflix’s new true crime show Indian Predator: Diary Of A Serial Killer is about a man named Raja Kolander who was accused of committing the murders of 14 people, and cannibalism. Directed by Dheeraj Jindal and written by Sudeep Nigam, the new three-part series follows Raja Kolander’s exploits after he was accused of murdering a journalist named Dhirendra Singh and 13 others.
The investigation began after local journalist Dhirendra Singh vanished in Uttar Pradesh in December of 2000. Police followed Singh’s mobile phone throughout their investigation. They discovered a call sent to a landline owned by Kolander and his wife, Phoolan Devi.
As the investigation progressed, authorities discovered several skulls and bones, as well as a diary that contained gruesome descriptions of Kolander’s alleged cannibalism, after following leads to a Naini farmhouse. Various accounts claim that Kolander would shoot his victims before dismembering their bodies. He is then supposed to have cooked and consumed some of the body parts, especially the brains, in the hopes that he would learn something from them and save the skulls as mementos.

Raja Kolander Real Story
An Allahabad court issued a ruling about a man who was found guilty of cannibalism and the murder of his victims. The defendant Raja Kalander, also known as Ram Niranjan, was convicted guilty of the murders of multiple people, including journalist Dhirendra Singh. For more than 12 years, Raja Kalander was the target of the prosecution. Dhirendra Singh was killed, and his body was dismembered, dumped in a river, and then into a jungle.
The murder of Dhirendra Singh was deemed the rarest of rare cases by the court when it found Kalandar guilty. When Dhirendra Singh was killed and his family filed a lawsuit, the inquiries into Kalandar began. The police investigated district panchayat member Phoolan Devi’s home as part of their investigation into the journalist’s slaying, and they found various items that belonged to Singh there.
The spouse of Phoolan, Kalandar, confessed to the killing, and several human skulls were also discovered while the case was being investigated. Singh’s car was also found by the police.
Singh’s body had been identified by Kalandar. He also admitted burying 14 human skulls in his residence. In actuality, Kalandar admitted that Singh had been shot dead by Kalandar’s brother-in-law Vakchharaj at a farmhouse in Pipri where Singh had been calling from. Kalandar and Vakchharaj transported Singh’s body to Madhya Pradesh after killing him. His body was cut into pieces and buried in the countryside.

He was referred to as a serial murderer in court by the prosecution because he was responsible for the deaths of 14 people. According to reports, he used to kill his victims and then keep their skulls. He killed people in order to exact revenge on his enemies and to develop his mental strength.
Additionally, Raja admitted to the police that he killed Singh out of fear. He thought that Dhirendra would reveal his identity and publish his story. According to the police, his brother-in-law actively assisted him in his actions. The prosecution testified in court that Kalandar had a habit of devouring certain body parts of his victims. He used to drink the victims’ brains after he had bailed them. He also hung the heads on trees and threw body pieces at the farmhouse before pigs.
Later, it was also revealed that Raja used to judge his victims by categorizing the skulls of his victims according to their castes. In addition, Kalandar’s journal, which he referred to as the court journal, was found by the police. The diary contained information on both his intended victims and his actual victims. In accordance with police reports, Kalandar was a history-sheeter who previously engaged in robbery before turning into a murderer. He started killing people in 1998, and he didn’t stop until he killed Singh in 2000.
Where Is Raja Kolander Today?
Raja Kolander was sentenced to life in jail on November 30, 2012, and his appeals are still pending. He is currently being held at the maximum-security Unnao District Jail. It should be made clear that the 60-year-old is explicitly serving time for the carjacking that resulted in the deaths of Manoj Singh and Ravi Shrivastava in January 2000, as well as the murder of Dhirendra Singh in December 2000.
